Xiaomi’s gaming brand Black Shark is set to launch its second gaming smartphone of the year at an event in China on July 30. The smartphone, which will debut as the Black Shark 2 Pro, will be a minor upgrade over the Black Shark 2 launched earlier this year. Thanks to new information that we have received from leakster Ishan Agarwal, we can now confirm that the smartphone will be available with up to 512GB storage and come in three color options. Additionally, we can confirm that Xiaomi will soon launch new Mi Gaming laptops with upgraded hardware.

Black Shark 2 Pro to Arrive in Three Storage Variants, Color Options

The Black Shark 2 Pro will be sold in three memory configurations in China: 12GB + 128GB, 12GB + 256GB, and 12GB + 512GB. As for color options, the gaming smartphone will arrive in Black, Blue, and Ice shades. According to speculations, the most significant upgrade that the Black Shark 2 Pro will bring to the table will be Qualcomm’s new Snapdragon 855+ chipset, which delivers an impressive 15 percent improvement in graphics performance compared to the Snapdragon 855. The smartphone had made an appearance on the Geekbench database, posting impressive single-core and multi-core scores.

In terms of design, the upcoming gaming smartphone will be very similar to the Black Shark 2, as confirmed by a teaser that was posted on Weibo by the company earlier this week. It will also come with DC Dimming 2.0, as suggested by the reservations page on JD.com. For the most part, we expect the phone to be similar to the Black Shark 2, which went official only in March this year.

Moving on to the Mi Gaming laptops, the upcoming refresh will add new GPU options such as the GTX 2060 and GTX 1660 Ti. Apart from more powerful graphics, the updated models will have a 144Hz display option, a solid upgrade over the current models that include a 60Hz display panel.
