Black Shark 5 and Black Shark 5 Pro Listed on NBTC Ahead of Global Launch on June 8

The Black Shark 5 and 5 Pro gaming-centric smartphones were launched in China back in March 2022. The duo is now set to launch globally next week. The Black Shark 5 series smartphones will launch globally on June 8 and ahead of the global launch of the devices, the Black Shark 5 and 5 Pro devices have been spotted on NBTC (National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission) in Thailand.

The Black Shark 5 has been listed on the NBTC website with SHARK PAR-HOTH and the Balck Shark 5 Pro has been listed with SHARK KTUS-HO on the same database. By clearing this certification, the Black Shark 5 series is now all set to launch globally next week. Let’s take a look at the specifications of the device.

Black Shark 5 and 5 Pro: Specifications

Both the Black Shark 5 and 5 Pro offer a 6.67-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display with 1300 nits of peak brightness, HDR10+, DC Dimming and a 720Hz touch sampling rate. The phones also come with a dual-zone pressure-sensitive display, which is similar to the iQoo 9 series devices. In terms of screen refresh rate, the devices offer up to 144Hz screen refresh rate.

In terms of processing power, the Shark 5 Pro is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC and on the other hand, the vanilla model of the phone is powered by Snapdragon 870 SoC. Since these are gaming-centric smartphones, both come with a VC cooling system and the devices also come with dedicated trigger buttons for an enhanced gaming experience.

As for the cameras, the 5 Pro has a 108MP main camera, a 13MP ultrawide camera and a 5MP telephoto camera. The vanilla model gets a 64MP main camera, a 2MP macro camera and a 13MP ultrawide sensor. For selfies, the phones feature a 16MP front camera. In terms of battery, the phones get a 4650 battery unit with 120W fast charging support and lastly, they run Android 12-based JoyUI 13 out of the box. The devices also feature a SharkEye RGB light effect on the back.

In China, the Black Shark 5 Pro starts at CNY 4199 (roughly Rs 50,100) and the vanilla model starts at CNY 2799 (roughly Rs 33,400).
