While the idea of movies created just for digital platforms is gaining popularity throughout the world, India is only now beginning to accept it. For filmmakers, a digital-only release is advantageous because it aids with cost recovery. Every year, the Indian film business cranks out about 2,000 movies. But a sizable portion never sees a theatrical release. Given their extensive reach, OTT services are becoming viable options in such a situation.
Many films are now taking the same route. Even big stars are going the same route. Bollywood heartthrob, Shahid Kapoor has teased his fans with his direct-to-digital movie Bloody Daddy. The gory teaser shows the audience what to expect from the movie. The movie seems to be full of action and blood trails.
Jio Cinema, the OTT division of Reliance Industries that up till now served as a content aggregator, is prepared to release a number of original films. The media and content division of Reliance Industries, Jio Studios, presented a sizable portfolio of 100 new titles. These titles will be a mixture of multilingual original films and web series. According to the brand, these films will soon be available on Jio Cinemas; some of them will have theatrical releases. Jio Studios was founded in 2018. They have so far produced 50 films, and with 100 titles they plan to further expand.

The movie is coming out from the new slate of originals from Jio Studio and in a star-studded event in Mumbai; the studio announced that it will premiere the movie on June 9, 2023.

In the 1-minute 15-second teaser, Shahid is seen fighting thugs with knives, firearms, clubs, and what appears to be a raw mutton leg while wearing a black suit and an open-collared shirt. The graphic teaser for the movie promises “drugs, cops, family, and lots and lots of blood.”
Apart from Shahid Kapoor, Sanjay Kapoor, Ronit Roy, and Rajiv Khandelwal also play important characters in the movie. Directed by Ali Abbas Zafar, the movie is produced by Jyoti Deshpande, Himanshu Kishan Mehra, Ali Abbas Zafar, Sunir Kheterpal & Gaurav Bose
