Boat Watch Iris is the latest smartwatch in the budget segment to have come through. The new smartwatch has been launched in India now, and sales for the smartwatch begin at 12PM today on Thursday, December 23. The smartwatch follows the circular design language, and will likely look to take on companies such as smartphone-first brands Realme and Xiaomi, wearables centric companies such as Amazfit, and fellow Indian brands such as Noise.
In terms of what the watch brings to the table, the Boat Watch Iris comes with a 1.39-inch AMOLED display, with a circular design. It also features screen resolution of 454 x 454 pixels. The display is inlaid with numbers around the outer edge of the display, and has a single button to the right for controlling various settings on the smartwatch. The Boat Watch Iris also claims to offer multiple watch faces to the user, allowing customisation of how it would look.
The Boat Watch Iris features a heart rate sensor, along with an SpO2 blood oxygen monitoring sensor and a gyroscope. Through this, it will offer all-day heart rate tracking, along with tracking of multiple sport modes including walking, running, cycling, swimming, skipping, badminton, football and basketball. In terms of battery life, the smartwatch claims to offer up to 7 days of battery backup.
In terms of other features, the Watch Iris offers music playback control on smartphones, as well as remote controlling smartphone cameras. The watch will also relay smartphone notifications, including call notifications. However, making voice calls would not be possible through the smartwatch. The Boat Watch Iris also has IP68 rating, which makes it sweat, splash and dust resistant. The watch will also offer users the ability to view calorie counts, a pedometer for step counts, and more.
The smartwatch is now available on Flipkart at Rs 4,499, and will take on a host of budget smartwatches and wearables at under Rs 5,000 in India.
