With competition in the telecom and home broadband scene becoming fierce, networks providers such as BSNL have been keeping the momentum going by offering new plans across their platforms. Today, we will be reporting on BSNL’s new recharge plan for mobile phones, and a free home internet plan for landline users. First up is the ‘5GB Free Trial’ broadband plan that is being reintroduced to BSNL landline users who still don’t have a connection. And for its mobile network customers, BSNL is launching a new INR 96 prepaid recharge plan with benefits such as unlimited calling.

BSNL Broadband 5GB Free Trial For Landline Customers

BSNL’s first launched the “5GB Free Trial” plan back in March of this year. According to an official poster first spotted by DreamDTH forums, BSNL has reintroduced the offer for all of its landline customers except those residing in the Andaman and Nicobar circle. The state-owned telco shall be providing free internet access those customers with an active landline connection who have never subscribed to a BSNL broadband connection before. These customers shall receive 10Mbps download speeds capped at 5GB data per day. After reaching this data cap, the customer shall have their speed downgraded to 1Mbps until the next day.

BSNL free broadband offer can be claimed until July 31. After claiming the offer, the validity of the free broadband connection shall last up until one month from the date of activation. One requirement from the customer’s part is that they need to use their own customer premise equipment (CPE) or modem for internet access. Once the trial period is over, the customer shall be migrated to a regular BSNL broadband plan.

BSNL INR 96 Prepaid Recharge Plan

For its prepaid telecom customers, BSNL is offering a new recharge plan priced at INR 96. The telco calls this its VASANTHAM GOLD – PV 96 plan and it is being provided across the country excluding Mumbai and Delhi circles. This recharge pack offers unlimited national and roaming calls along with 100 free SMS. These are freebie offers that will be valid for 21 days, while the recharge plan on its own comes with a validity of 180 days. After the 21 days is over, users will be charged on a ‘per minute’ basis for in-home, national and roaming calls. A grace period of 165 days is also being offered.

Activating the new plan is as easy as sending an SMS “PLAN VOICE96” to 123. To keep using the same package once its validity runs out, all you need to do is send an SMS “PLAN CONTINUE” to 123. Telecom Talk was the first to report on this plan’s launch, and it can also be found BSNL Chennai website.
