BYD Atto 3 is the latest electric vehicle to join the list of battery-powered cars in India. The all-electric SUV has been launched at a starting price of Rs 33.99 lakh (ex-showroom) and comes as the second EV offering by the Chinese automaker Build Your Dreams (BYD) after the e6 MPV that was unveiled in the country in August this year.
As a highlight, the BYD Atto 3 comes with a range of 521km (ARAI-approved) on a single charge, made possible with a 60.48kWh Blade battery pack that is considerably larger than those found on the Hyundai Kona and the MG ZS EV, which the EV plans to contest in the Indian market. To boost this, the electric SUV supports regenerative braking and a fast charging capability wherein it can juice up 80 per cent of the battery through an 80kW DC fast charger.
