Call of Duty Modern Warfare II is set to be one of the year’s biggest releases and the timing of the launch couldn’t be at a more contentious period in the franchise’s history. The Microsoft-Activision acquisition is being put through the wringer across several different regulatory bodies across the globe with market leader Sony openly campaigning against the acquisition.

PlayStation has been the benefactor of several exclusive offers and access periods for Call of Duty and now with the Xbox-Activision acquisition, all of that could be coming to an end – which is not good news for Sony.
