Lenovo has launched a lot of products during the CES 2020, including the likes of Chromebooks, ThinkPads, tablets, and others. Chief amongst them are the Lenovo Chromebook IdeaPad Flex 5, Lenovo Chromebook IdeaPad Duet, the Smart Tab M10 FHD Plus 2nd Gen with Google Assistant, and the 21.5-inch Lenovo Smart Frame. Let’s have a look at the prices, release dates, specifications, and features of the products that we have mentioned above.
Lenovo Unveils New IdeaPad Chromebooks, a Smart Picture Frame, and an Android Tablet/Google Assistant Display During the CES 2020
Lenovo Smart Picture Frame
Starting things off with the Lenovo Smart Frame, the Smart Frame can be hung on the walls of your home. It displays the pictures that you take on your smartphone, just like the Google Nest Hub or the Lenovo Smart Display. The difference here is the fact that the Lenovo Smart Picture Frame has a much larger display that can easily rotate to make room for both portrait and landscape shots. For that matter, the frame knows its orientation so that it won’t show un-rotated photos, even accidentally. Nobody likes wires hanging off a table or a wall, and Lenovo has taken care of this fact while designing the Lenovo Smart Picture Frame. The mounting bracket for the frame comes with a built-in level and cable management. The frame, or the bezel, if we may call it, comes in a White color (though an extra $39 can help you get a wooden frame as well).
As far as the display is concerned, the 21.5-inch frame comes with a color tone sensor that can automatically adjust the screen color temperature and brightness as per the lighting conditions. Moreover, the frame features an anti-glare layer and has a matte finish. To browse through the gallery, the Lenovo Smart Frame packs in a motion sensor using which, you can swipe through the pictures and control the pause/play function.
The Lenovo Smart Frame will sell for $399 and will hit the shelves in August 2020.
Smart Tab M10 FHD Plus 2nd Gen with Google Assistant
As the name suggests, the Lenovo Smart Tab M10 comes with support for Google Assistant, but more on that later. First up, let’s talk about its specifications. The Lenovo M10 Plus features a 10.3-inch FHD display with a 1920 x 1200 resolution. Under the hood, the M10 Plus 2nd Gen is powered with a MediaTek Helio P22T chipset which is coupled with either 2GB or 4GB of RAM and 32GB/64GB/128GB of onboard storage. A 5,000mAh battery keeps the lights of the tablet on.
Well, the specifications of the Lenovo Smart tab M10 are pretty much standard, but that’s not what we are the most excited about. The real catch here is the dual functionality it offers. You can use the Lenovo Smart Tab M10 as a regular tablet, or you can dock it and use it as a smart display that can be used for asking questions to the Google Assistant, playing YouTube videos, checking your schedule, setting alarms, etc. The tablet, therefore, offers a level of freedom which the traditional smart displays fail to provide. In case you are interested in buying a gadget of that sort, the Lenovo Smart Tab M10 FHD Plus 2nd Gen with Google Assistant will start selling in April 2020 with a starting price of $190.
Lenovo Chromebook IdeaPad Duet and Lenovo Chromebook IdeaPad Flex 5
The Lenovo IdeaPad Duet and the Lenovo IdeaPad Flex 5 are the company’s latest offerings, this time in the Chromebooks realms. Talking about the IdeaPad Duet first, the device is essentially a tablet that attaches to a thin keyboard that also acts as a cover. We are glad to see the keyboard bearing a trackpad. The detachable keyboard includes a kickstand that can stretch the orientation all the way up to 135 degrees. The device features a 10.1-inch Full HD IPS LCD display which gives out 400 nits of brightness and a 70% color gamut. As it is a Chromebook, it runs on Chrome OS, though it supports several Android apps. Lastly, the Lenovo IdeaPad Duet features an (optional) USI stylus. The price of the device is kept at $279.99, and it will go on sale in May 2020.
Coming to the Lenovo IdeaPad Flex 5, it is a higher-end model that runs on the 10th-Gen Intel Core i5 processor. The processor is coupled with 128GB of storage and 8GB of RAM. On the display front, the IdeaPad Flex 5 features a 13-inch display with 300 nits brightness and a thin bezel. Just like the IdeaPad Duet, the IdeaPad Flex 5 also supports a pen-based input and comes bundled with a stylus. The battery life of the device, as claimed by the company, reaches as much as 10 hours on a single charge. The device comes with a spill-resistant keyboard. Connectivity features include a Thunderbolt 3, Wi-Fi 6, and a 720p camera. The device will go on sale in June 2020 for an asking price of $359.99.
