Christie was directed by newcomer Alvin Henry. Alvin’s story is scripted by writers Benjamin and GR Indugopan. The film is produced by Sajay Sebastian and Kannan Satheesan under the banner of Rocky Mountain Cinemas. Anand C Chandran has done the camera. Manu Antony is Christie’s editor. The film was brought to the theaters by Central Pictures.
Mathew Thomas plays Roy, a youngster with poor academic skills who requires Christy, his tutor, to help him pass his Plus Two examinations. Malavika Mohanan gives a poignant performance as Christy. She relocates to the Maldives for a teaching position despite being divorced, having a wasteful father, and oppressive living conditions at home. Meanwhile, Mathew falls in love with Christy, who nicknames her “chechi,” and he declares his desire to wed her. He interprets her lack of an unambiguous “no” as a “yes,” and the rest of the story is about his attempts to be with her.
The movie was not well accepted by the audience and the viewers gave disappointing reviews for the film. On IMDb, the film has a rating of 5.7. Christy’s trailer was uploaded to YouTube by SonyLiv recently. 8,465 people have watched and liked the trailer thus far. Critics gave the film a variety of ratings after its debut.
