Android 13 is just around the corner for Pixel phones, and OnePlus, OPPO’s sibling company has released its side of the equation with OxygenOS 13. OPPO has been internally testing the beta version of the new ColorOS 13 with just select fans permitted to participate. While the company has yet to announce an official launch date for its Android 13-based custom skin, a new report claims that ColorOS 13 will be available globally in August 2022 (that is, later this month). Let’s take a look at the ColorOS 13 global launch date, the devices that will receive the upgrade first, and everything we know so far.
Android 13 Is Coming Soon to Your OPPO Devices
91Mobiles reports that ColorOS 13 will be launched globally in August; this shouldn’t come as a surprise considering OnePlus just unveiled the OxygenOS 13 at an event alongside the OnePlus 10T. For the unaware, OnePlus’s OxygenOS and OPPO’s ColorOS reportedly share the same unified operating system. The report adds that the Reno8 series, which includes the Reno8 and the Reno8 Pro will be among the first smartphones to get the Android 13-based ColorOS update in September.
OPPO has also begun actively recruiting for the ColorOS 13 public beta programme for the OPPO Find X5, Find X5 Pro, and Find N. Participants in the programme will have the opportunity to test ColorOS 13 based on Android 13 on the aforementioned devices before the upgrade is released to the stable channel later this year.
You may enrol your phone in the Android 13-based ColorOS 13 beta if you want to get your hands on the Android 13 build ahead of its stable release. Begin with taking a backup of your data and updating your OPPO Find N to A.20/A.22, your OPPO X5, and your OPPO X5 Pro to A.20/A.21 to move forward. Finally, head over to Settings > About device > Trial versions and register for a spot in the public beta test.
