Last week, Oppo announced that it will unveil the latest iteration of its custom skin dubbed the ColorOS on November 20 in China. As it turns out, the company does not want to feel its fans in India feel left out. The company has confirmed today that ColorOS 7 won’t stay exclusive to China for too long as it will be unveiled in India the following week, November 26 to be specific. It is worth noticing that the upcoming ColorOS 7 will be baked on top of Android 10, so in case you own an Oppo device, you might be getting all the goodness of both the ColorOS 7 as well as Android 10 in your smartphone pretty soon (for most of them, some devices that are still running on a dated version of Android might get the ColorOS 7 without an Android 10 update as well).

Oppo to launch ColorOS 7 in India on November 26

Oppo has sent out a “Save The Date” email to the media wherein it has confirmed the Indian launch date for the ColorOS 7. This is good news as far as the Indian devices are concerned. Historically speaking, the ColorOS updates have taken a significant amount of time to travel from China to India and this time, the company has not even taken a full week to do the same.

Color OS 7 – features and leaked screenshots

A little while ago, we got a bunch of leaked screenshots of the upcoming ColorOS. You can check out the images by following our existing coverage of the same.

As far as the features of the upcoming iteration go, the latest ColorOS 7 is expected to bring about a plethora of design changes and a UI overhaul. The lock screen after the ColorOS 7 update will come with a new charging animation and new transition animation.

It seems like there won’t be a native app-drawer coming up with the ColorOS 7 update too, but as usual, there might be an option to enable that from the settings menu.

The notification drawer has also got revamped as the major content has now been dragged down to the very bottom of the screen which would make it easier for the users to switch the toggles and access the notifications, much like the one found on Samsung’s One UI. The recent apps tray has also got a visual overhaul with the ColorOS 7 update.

Finally, ColorOS 7 will bring about a native dark mode which will be deeply integrated within the entire ecosystem.

Here are the full features of the ColorOS 7 which have recently got leaked.

In a recent episode of #AskMadhav, Madhav Sheth, CEO Realme confirmed that the Realme devices will utilize ColorOS 7 in the future. Furthermore, he mentioned that the UI will be almost stock-like. Judging by the screenshots that have got leaked, it appears that the ColorOS 7 will be anything but near to stock Android, so we can expect to get a more customized version of the ColorOS 7 for the Realme devices.

As of now, this is all we know about the upcoming ColorOS 7 update, but we are sure to receive more information on the same in the coming days.
