The very first time we heard about ColorOS 7 was from Realme’s India CEO Madhav Sheth as he confirmed it to be in the works in his #AskMadhav episode 11 a week back. Now, OPPO has just teased the new ColorOS version today on Weibo with a 1-minute video. The teaser doesn’t reveal anything about the new version although it clearly reveals at the end that there’s an announcement on November 20. This announcement comes after OPPO’s VP, Shen Yiren, said that the Reno 10X ZOOM will soon receive ColorOS 7.0.

OPPO’s ColorOS 6.0 released last year in November which comes with an updated user interface, Game Boost 2.0, updated camera, gaming, and security features. There’s very little we know of it, but ColorOS 7 is likely to be based on Android 10.0.

Speculation suggests that OPPO will reveal features such as Dark Mode, Focus Mode (similar to Zen Mode), an optimized Control Center or quick settings menu, better file management features and a lot more. We wouldn’t be surprised to see a more minimalistic UI as well with new graphics.

Realme’s CEO has promised that ColorOS 7.0 will bring a close-to-stock experience that has fans genuinely interested. However, Realme also stated that it will be exclusive to devices. This is quite intriguing as it suggests OPPO’s ColorOS 7 will be different in some ways. That’s all we know about it for now. We do expect to get a first glance and teasers starting tomorrow as OPPO starts promoting the new version, as officially promised.

OPPO has in the last few months started to be more active with software updates and that’s a good thing for users.
