Coolpad is an OEM known to offer smartphones conforming to the latest trends at affordable prices. Now, in its new move in India, the brand is gearing up to launch a phone dubbed Coolpad Cool 3. The upcoming phone will feature a dewdrop notch display with the glossy rear panel. It will be available in a slew of color variants. Coolpad will be officially announcing the device on February 5, 2019. With Android Pie under the hood, the phone will be launched under 6K price bracket in India. Let’s dig out more details about the upcoming Coolpad Cool 3 smartphone.

Coolpad Cool 3 With Android Pie, Dewdrop Notch

For now, the only confirmed specifications on the Coolpad Cool 3 are software and design. The phone will ship with Android 9 Pie and will be featuring a dewdrop notch on top of the front panel housing the front camera. The company has itself revealed these details in the media invite for the launch. It is quite interesting that with the latest Android version under the hood and the trendy notch design, Coolpad will be launching the Coolpad Cool 3 under such an affordable price point.

Concerning other specs, going by its teaser image, it seems that the Coolpad Cool 3 will have a sleek design with minimum bezels. It could feature a 6.3-inch IPS LCD screen at FHD+ resolution and 2.5D curved tempered glass protection. On the rear, the phone will most likely have a vertical dual camera setup with LED flash stacked between the two lenses. It should also support Face Unlock feature backed by the front camera.

Under the hood, the Coolpad Cool 3 could come powered by a MediaTek or a Qualcomm processor with 3GB/4GB of RAM and 32GB/64GB of inbuilt storage. It should also pack a microSD card slot for further storage expansion. Connectivity-wise, we can expect the phone to support dual-SIM, 4G VoLTE, and a microUSB port.

Coolpad Competing With Realme and Xiaomi in India

Under the 6K price segment, Coolpad will be competing with the OEMs like Realme and Xiaomi. The Realme U1 and the Redmi 6A are the phones offered around the same range in India. The Coolpad Cool 3 will be rivaling these devices to get ahead in the Indian smartphone market. The battle won’t be easy for sure as both Realme and Xiaomi have established themselves while Coolpad has been a tentative performer. Although the company has always tried to disrupt the market by offering worthy smartphones at an affordable price tag, it has not been in a constant stream.

It would be interesting to see how the phone performs in front of the others when its key specifications are officially revealed on February 5, 2019. Stay tuned with MySmartPrice to get all the updates about the Coolpad Cool 3.
