One of Tollywood’s best actors, Nani strikes a mix between commercial and content-based movies. Notwithstanding the outcomes, Nani has been working on back-to-back movies. His most recent appearance was in Ante Sundaraniki, which received appreciation for both its plot and, of course, Nani’s performance. He was praised for his performance once more in a film named Shaym Singh Roy. Nani is the third actor to carve his name in golden letters in the Telugu Film Industry (TFI) on his own, apart from Chiranjeevi and Raviteja, and is known for his effortless acting and films. Some admirers only watch his performance; nonetheless, he has been appearing in the best movies, like Jersey, Shyam Singh Roy, and Ante Sundaraniki, and he is currently basking in the glory of the action drama Dasara, which is rough and unpolished.

Dasara has been pitched against Ajay Devgn’s remake of the Tamil film Kaithi, Bholaa, despite that the film is garnering rave reviews from both the audience and critics. The film is a great success according to Telugu film standards, which made the streaming services make a beeline to buy the digital rights of the film. And ultimately, Netflix paid Rs 22 crores for the OTT rights. It was decided by the streaming service that it will wait and see the response of the film in the theatres and then will announce the release date of the film. However, sources claim that the OTT giant will start streaming the movie in the middle of May; some are even claiming that it will start streaming on May 30, 2023.

When and Where to Watch Dasara

The global digital giant Netflix has bought the OTT rights of the film Dasara for a hefty amount and it is waiting for the theatrical run of the film to get over to release the film on its platform. The streaming service has not announced any specific date for the release of the film, but, sources reveal that the digital behemoth will release the film in mid-May or end of May.

Official Trailer and Plot

The buzz of the movie can be gauged by the fact that the trailer of the film was viewed 2 million times within two weeks of its release. Dharani (Nani) has had many phobias since he was a young child. In awkward situations, he prefers to be quiet, and as a child, he has trouble controlling his pee even if he hears a cat scream nearby. When Dharani’s grandmother tells him one day that she drinks to combat fear, no one is surprised to see him with bottles hanging from his waist at all times. His closest friend is Suri (Deekshith Shetty), for whom Dharani will stop at nothing. Even if he has to forgo his love for Vennela (Keerthy Suresh), for Suri. During the Sarpanch elections, the situation worsens, secrets are exposed, and people are killed, forcing Dharani to confront his worries alone and without the assistance of his reliable friends, alcohol, and Suri.

Nani plays the lead role of Dharani in Srikanth Odela’s historical action-adventure film Dasara, which also starred Dheekshith Shetty, Keerthy Suresh, Samuthirakani, Shine Tom Chacko, and several other characters. This movie was made by Sudhakar Cherukuri under the auspices of Sri Lakshmi Venkateswara Cinemas. Santosh Narayanan created the soundtrack and background score for this movie, and Sathyan Sooryan of ISC handled the cinematography. The stunts for this movie were coordinated by Real Satish and Anbariv, and the editing was done by Navin Nooli. Thota Srinivas is the dialogue writer of the film.

Reception

The movie was sold for astronomical prices around the world, the highest in Nani’s career. The movie has had respectable reservations but could have been better given the volume of pre-business it has generated. The makers of the movie Dasara reported that it made over Rs 87 crore at the box office worldwide in its first weekend. The historical action drama, had a mixed reception when it debuted on March 30. Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada, and Hindi were the five official languages in which the pan-Indian movie was released.
