Dead Pixels, the British programme created by Succession creator Jesse Armstrong, Sam Bain, and Phil Clarke’s Various Artists Limited, has been given the go-ahead for a Disney+ Hotstar version. The adaptation, which will be in Telugu, is the brainchild of BBC Studios India and Tamada Media. The CW acquired the American rights to the British television series Dead Pixels after it ran on E4 for two seasons.

It was created by Jon Brown and features actors, including Charlotte Ritchie from Ghosts and Rose Matafeo, the creator of Starstruck. The Telugu adaptation of this comedy series could be based on similar lines. However, the details of the upcoming comedy series are yet to be revealed by Disney+ Hotstar. But it seems it could be one of many English-language television programmes that have been adapted for Indian audiences, including Luther, The Night Manager, and Doctor Foster.

Disney+ Hotstar has announced that the Telugu Dead Pixels is coming soon on its platform. However, the OTT platform did not reveal the actual OTT release date for Dead Pixels. However, if we believe multiple reports, the official release date could be this May. Moreover, It has also been announced that the series will have 6 episodes.

Official Trailer and Plot

At the time of writing, there is no official trailer or plot revealed for the upcoming Telugu series. However, the series could follow a similar narrative that we have seen in the British version of Dead Pixels. The story follows the journey of three young friends whose lives centre around an online video game. The Indian adaptation shifts from the UK to Hyderabad and shows how the game’s preoccupation with the main protagonists interferes with various facets of their daily lives. Niharika Konidela, Harsha Chemudu, Sai Ronak, Akshay Lagusani, and Bhavana Sagi are among the cast members of the adaptation, directed by Aditya Mandala and written by Akshay Poolla.
