The lower mid-range smartphone segment is already rife with some great choices in the Indian market. If you’re on the lookout for a smartphone that costs around INR 15,000, now is a good time as any to pounce on one of the many killer deals dotting the online shopping space. Both the Huawei P20 Lite and Honor 8X are retailing at Amazon.in for INR 15,000.
There is a discount of INR 3,000 on the Honor 8X and INR 5,000 on the Huawei P20 Lite. Combine these flat Amazon India discounts with additional offers and you’re looking at an effective price as low as INR 13,500. Click here to purchase the Honor 8X and here to buy the Huawei P20 Lite at the discounted prices. Here’s how this deal works.
How to Snag Additional INR 1,500 Off on the Phones
For starters, you’ll need an HDFC bank credit or debit card (or at the very least a friend who has one of those) to claim the maximum additional offer discount of INR 1,500. This will shave 10 percent off the total price of these phones, which comes around to an INR 1,500 discount applied on the devices, on the spot. This takes the effective price to INR 13,500, which is the best deal you can get right now on the phones.
However, if you don’t own a HDFC credit/debit card and don’t know anyone among your friends and family who owns one either, there’s another offer that can be redeemed using any digital payment medium. This includes credit and debit card, net banking, amazon pay balance, and UPI based transactions. This offer doesn’t come without a catch, unfortunately. Although, it promises the same 10 percent discount as the previous offer, there’s a cap of INR 1,000 on the total available discount. Furthermore, the discount is only disbursed as Amazon Pay balance, so you can’t exactly cash it out or use it anywhere else except the Amazon India store.
What’s more, the above two offers can be stacked on top of each other. That means a total savings of INR 2,500, which brings the price of the phones effectively down to INR 12,500. Though, a good INR 1,000 of these savings will be credited in Amazon Pay Balance, but that’s also savings, nonetheless.
There are other cashback offers as well, but they’re nowhere near as lucrative as the above two offers. The only other decision that you’ll have to make now is choosing which one of these Huawei or Honor phones should you purchase. Don’t worry, because we have you covered on that account.

Honor 8X vs Huawei P20 Lite: The Honor 8X is More Powerful
The Honor 8X is the latest of the two phones, and is approximately six months newer. To be honest, six months is half a lifetime when it comes to the fast-paced world of smartphones; and it shows. Although, both phones have the same 4GB RAM and 64GB storage options, the Honor 8X sports a much newer HiSilicon Kirin 710 SoC. This newer chip is based on the newer 12nm lithography compared to the 16nm fabrication process of the older Kirin 659 chipset found within the Huawei P20 Lite.
The Honor 8X’s Kirin 710 also sports faster ARM Cortex-A73 performance cores, as opposed to the slower and more power-efficiency oriented Cortex-A53 cores on the P20 Lite’s Kirin 659 chip. This gives the Honor 8X a claimed 75-percent performance increase over Huawei P20 Lite; at least on paper. Then the Honor 8X also has a faster GPU and a beefier LTE modem offering double the download bandwidth of the competing modem found in the Huawei P20 Lite. The newer Honor 8X also sports the equally newer Android 8.1 Oreo, with an updated EMUI 8.2 skin, both of which are an upgrade over the OS and EMUI skin of the Huawei P20 Lite available out of the box.
Honor 8X vs Huawei P20 Lite: The Honor 8X Looks and Feels Better Too
The Honor 8X’s winning streak doesn’t end with its powerful internals, its beauty proverbially runs skin deep too. With a higher grade and beautifully textured glass back and (thankfully not textured) front sandwiched between an aluminium chassis, the Honor 8X is decidedly better built and more aesthetically pleasing than the Huawei P20 Lite, which sports a relatively less luxurious plastic back.
What’s more, the Honor 8X also sports a larger 6.5-inch IPS LCD display compared to the 5.84-inch alternative found on the Huawei P20 Lite. Because the Honor 8X’s display also sports a wider 19.5:9 aspect ratio, it also has a 4 percent higher screen-to-body ratio compared to the P20 Lite.
In other words, you get a larger display without a significant increase in the physical dimensions of the phone. The 20-megapixel camera of the Honor 8X also appears better (at least on paper) than the 16-megapixel unit found on the Huawei P20 Lite.
