The Dyson Purifier Cool and Purifier Hot+Cool air purifiers have been launched in India earlier today. The new generation purifiers offer iterative upgrades over their predecessors, the Dyson Pure Cool and Pure Hot+Cool, respectively. While the company has largely retained the same design language, the new purifiers come with a new black and nickel finish. The purifiers offer iterative performance upgrades as well, and come to India just ahead of its festive season – a period that has become notorious for skyrocketing pollution levels.
Dyson Purifier Cool: new features
In terms of what’s new with the air purifiers, the Dyson Purifier Cool and Hot+Cool claim to feature re-engineered machine airflow pathways to offer a fully sealed HEPA 13 purification process. This, Dyson claims, has helped them improve their efficiency of air purification – the machines now claim to absorb the H1N1 airborne virus, and on overall terms, purify a claimed 99.95 percent of particles as small as 0.1 micron.
Interestingly, Dyson claims that a big difference is that its entire purifier – and not just the filters – is HEPA H13 certified. “Dyson engineers took a forensic approach to achieving a fully-sealed machine, creating high pressure seals at an additional 24 critical points to prevent dirty air from bypassing the filters and carrying pollutants back into the room,” Alex Knox, VP Environmental Care, Dyson said.
Apart from this, Dyson claims that it has also “refined the overall airflow path by widening the aperture”, along with improving the geometry of the purifier, to achieve 20 percent quieter air purification performance. The results of its efforts have apparently reduced the contact points between the air being ejected and the purifier’s body, which therefore creates lesser noise in effect.
The rest of the features remain largely constant with what has already been one of the better performing air purifiers in the market – albeit at a premium price point.
Pricing and availability
The Dyson Purifier Cool costs Rs 45,900 for either colour variant, while the Purifier Hot+Cool costs Rs 55,900. Interested users may purchase the purifiers via the official Dyson India online store, Amazon and Flipkart. The purifiers will also be available in physical demo spaces operated by the company in Bengaluru, Chandigarh, Chennai, Delhi, Gurugram, Hyderabad, Mumbai and Pune, and will also be available in a select few Croma and Reliance retail outlets.
