In an exclusive report published last month, we had confirmed that the Redmi Note 7, Redmi Note 7 Pro, and Redmi Go smartphones will be launched in India before the end of the first quarter. We have now obtained some new information that confirms the Redmi Note 7 and Redmi Go storage as well as color variants for the Indian market.
Redmi Note 7 to be Sold in Two Storage Variants in India
The Redmi Note 7 will be available in two memory configurations in India at launch. While the base variant will include 3GB of RAM coupled with 32GB of internal storage, the more expensive configuration will have 4GB of RAM and 64GB of onboard storage. The 6GB RAM + 64GB storage variant will likely not be available in India. We will update this post in case we receive a confirmation regarding the launch of the 6GB RAM variant in India. As for color options, the Redmi Note 7 will be available in Black, Blue, and Red colors. Launched in China last month, the Redmi Note 7 sports a 6.3-inch Full HD+ display with a waterdrop notch and 1.95mm thin bezels. It is powered by a 14nm Snapdragon 660 octa-core processor with an Adreno 512 GPU. The smartphone also comes with a 48MP + 5MP dual-camera setup, 13MP AI selfie snapper, an IR blaster, USB Type-C port, and a 4000mAh capacity battery with Qualcomm Quick Charge 4.0 support. In terms of software, the Redmi Note 7 runs on the Android Pie-based MIUI 10 version out of the box.
The Redmi Go, which happens to be the company’s first Android Go smartphone, will be available in a single variant in India with 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage. It will be offered in the same three colors as the Redmi Note 7: Black, Blue, and Red. The entry-level Redmi Go smartphone comes with a 5-inch HD resolution display and runs on a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 chipset. It features an 8MP rear camera with an f/2.0 aperture and a 5MP selfie camera with an f/2.2 aperture. It also comes with a dedicated microSD card slot for further storage expansion, Dual SIM card slots, and a 3000mAh capacity battery. As for software, the Redmi Go runs on Android 8.1 Oreo (Go Edition).
