Far Cry 6 just announced a free weekend, coinciding with a brand-new Stranger Things DLC. Players will be able to play Far Cry 6 for free between March 24 and March 27 on Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and PC through the Epic Games Store or Ubisoft Store.
The newest DLC, ‘The Vanishing‘, inspired by the hit Netflix series transport players to the Upside Down where they must attempt to save Chorizo, one of the most reliable and cutest Amigos in the game. This DLC will also be available to new players that tune into Far Cry 6 during the Free Weekend.
In contrast with every other major crossover DLC, The Vanishing switches up the pacing by adopting stealth-horror-survival gameplay.

Far Cry 6’s Latest DLC, ‘The Vanishing’, is Inspired by Stranger Things
“The Vanishing, players will enter a twisted version of Yara inspired by the Upside-Down, where Dani discovers that Yarans are disappearing and no one is safe – not even Chorizo. Players will be able to explore Stranger Things-inspired locations, such as a hidden bunker and an abandoned laboratory. ”
-Ubisoft’s description of The Vanishing
The player and Dani’s mission is to look for Chorizo in the Upside Down while also discovering what happened to the abducted Yarans. The Vanishing features mysterious new characters as well as brand-new lore.
This is the latest of Ubisoft’s crossover DLCs for the game with the most recent one being a Rambo crossover mission where Dani must help a Rambo superfan. These DLCs have been received rather well, but the ones garnering the most praise are the 3 villain DLCs, Pagan: Control, Vaas: Insanity, and Joseph: Collapse.
These DLCs put players in control of the three iconic villains from the series’ past in an interesting roguelike scenario featuring mind-bending, cerebral gameplay sections. Players on the fence with Far Cry 6 might want to try out the game this Free Weekend and figure out if this entry is worth their time.
