Fossil has sent out a press release announcing that the brand has launched a new smartwatch in India today – the Fossil Sport Smartwatch. The smartwatch comes in two sizes – 41mm and 43mm. Both of them have a price tag of INR 17,995. The 41mm, as well as, the 43mm variants of the smartwatch are available in a couple of case colors, and multiple strap choices. The Fossil Sport Smartwatch will be available starting from June 2019 from Fossil online store, Fossil retail stores, and Fossil partner channels across India. Let us have a look at its specifications.

Fossil Sport Smartwatch Specifications

Weirdly enough, Fossil hasn’t revealed the specifics to the most important aspect of the smartwatch, and that is its display. All we know at the moment is that the Fossil Sport Smartwatch features a circular display, but the brand hasn’t revealed its type and resolution.

Moving onto the internals, the Fossil Sport Smartwatch features the Qualcomm Snapdragon 3100 SoC, and the device runs on Wear OS by Google. The smartwatch has 4GB internal storage as well. The RAM capacity is unknown at the moment, but in my opinion, it could be 512MB.

In terms of connectivity, the smartwatch has Wi-Fi b/g/n, Bluetooth v4.2, NFC, a proprietary magnetic port for charging, and most importantly, the smartwatch comes with GPS to track your activity and to provide on-device navigation. As for the sensors, the Fossil Sport Smartwatch has an accelerometer, gyroscope, altimeter, and ambient light sensor. And like most other smartwatches nowadays, the Fossil Sport Smartwatch has a heart-rate monitor as well. With all these sensors, the Fossil Sport Smartwatch is capable of tracking your fitness workout, sports, and daily activities.

Fossil hasn’t revealed the battery capacity either. The brand says that the Fossil Sport Smartwatch can last one day on a single charge. There is a low-power mode as well that can offer an additional two days of battery backup. However, in low-power mode, you can only use the watch to see time; additional smartwatch functionalities will not be available.

Unlike most smartwatches that feature a metal casing, the Fossil Sport Smartwatch features a nylon case with an aluminum top ring. According to Fossil, the usage of Nylon instead of metal has made the smartwatch lighter compared to most other smartwatches in the market. The Fossil Sport Smartwatch is water-resistant and swim proof as well. Lastly, the smartwatch comes with a microphone to interact with the watch using Google Assistant. Sadly, the Fossil Sport Smartwatch misses out on the speaker, meaning that you can’t take calls on it.
