BGMI set to host star-studded virtual wedding for gamer couple

KRAFTON India has announced a new campaign within Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI), centered around an in-game wedding event inspired by a real-life couple who met while playing the game. The initiative is being promoted as a multi-platform digital event featuring fashion, music, and appearances by public figures across various industries.

Real-Life Couple at the Center

The campaign highlights the story of two players from Meerut — Tanupreet and Jaspreet — known in-game as “OnFire X Hades” and “OnFire X Veronica”. The couple, who reportedly met through BGMI, are the focus of a virtual wedding celebration that will be hosted on BGMI’s official Instagram channel. The scheduled events are:

  • April 8: Mehendi

  • April 9: Sangeet, featuring a virtual performance by singer Benny Dayal

  • April 11: Digital wedding ceremony

Collaborations with Public Figures

The campaign includes several partnerships aimed at drawing attention from audiences outside the gaming sphere:

  • Fashion designer Ritu Beri has created BGMI-themed outfits for the couple.

  • Singer Benny Dayal will perform during the virtual sangeet.

  • Comedians and influencers such as Tanmay Bhat, Purav Jha, and Mritika Trivedi have promoted the event via unboxing videos of physical invitations.

  • Olympic athlete Neeraj Chopra is among several public figures participating in the campaign's digital promotion.

  • Gaming influencers, including Mortal, Scout, Kashvi, and Mamba, are also involved in promoting the campaign.

Community and Brand Positioning

According to KRAFTON, the campaign is designed as a “community-first” initiative intended to celebrate the broader BGMI player base. It is also positioned as a statement on how gaming can foster interpersonal connections, with implications for how digital platforms engage with youth and pop culture.

The campaign will feature in-game activations and content drops alongside the online programming. KRAFTON has encouraged users to follow BGMI's social media accounts to participate in the ongoing activities.
