Cristiano Ronaldo Brings His Iconic Soccer Skills to Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves

As announced by the developer SNK, Ronaldo will be joining the roster of Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves. Alongside sixteen other characters, Ronaldo’s presence adds a unique twist, as his in-game moves will be based on his iconic soccer skills.

Ronaldo’s in-game character is described as “one of the top football players in the world” who takes time off from the sport to visit South Town and refine his football skills in a new way. His fighting style incorporates soccer-based attacks like the ‘Headed Clearance’ (a jumping headbutt), ‘Echo Shot’ (kicking a ball at his opponent), and a powerful slide tackle. His victory animation includes his famous “Siuuu!” celebration. His football skills fit perfectly into the game, making him a unique fighter. You can watch the trailer below:

The Fatal Fury series has been a major part of the fighting game genre, with its last main entry, Mark of the Wolves, released in 1999. This entry marks the return of the series after 26 years and was initially announced at EVO 2022, reigniting excitement among fighting game fans.

With Ronaldo joining the lineup, City of the Wolves will feature a base roster of 17 fighters, combining returning favorites from previous Fatal Fury games with fresh additions. Ronaldo makes history as the first real-life footballer in the series. The first DLC season will introduce five more fighters, including Street Fighter legends Ken Masters and Chun-Li—the first third-party characters in Fatal Fury. Mr. Big, a notorious villain from the Art of Fighting, will also be included.

Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves is set to launch on April 24, 2025, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 4, and PC. The game will also be a featured title at the Esports World Cup in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, further cementing its place in competitive gaming.
