Masala Games has confirmed Detective Dotson: The Movie will premiere at Hyderabad Comic Con next week. It is an animated movie adaptation of the upcoming mystery adventure video game of the same name. It will be the first time a movie adaptation of a video game will be revealed at Comic-Con in India.

Detective Dotson: The Movie will be premiered at Hyderabad Comic Con on November 15 at 3:30 pm IST. Masala Games revealed it will showcase 20 minutes from the movie at the event. Since the movie is an adaptation of the game, Detective Dotson, it will feature characters and the same stylised 2D-meets-3D rendition of modern-day India as seen in the game.
The plot of the movie revolves around Detective Dotson and his friends looking to avert a danger that threatens the nation. It is confirmed the events of the Detective Dotson game take place after the movie. You can check out the Detective Dotson: The Movie trailer below.
As for the game, Detective Dotson features a titular character who wants to be a Bollywood star but ends up being a detective to find his father’s murderers. Dotson will have to use his detective instincts and special powers to solve the murder mystery and many other cases along the way.
We got our hands on an early preview of the game last month which we enjoyed playing a lot. Solving mysteries is always fun but when you add Masala Games’ well-thought special powers to the mix, the fun element increases many folds. The game is expected to debut during the first quarter of 2025.
