Ubisoft has announced a new Far Cry 4 update that adds 60fps support on current-gen consoles. This means that one of the best Far Cry video games will now run at twice the frame rate on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 5 Pro, and Xbox Series X/S. It is currently unknown if Patch 1.08 will bring any other improvements to the game.
Far Cry 4 Comes to Xbox Game Pass and Gets Discounted
The unexpected and pleasant Far Cry 4 update has arrived right at the time of the game’s inclusion in the Xbox Game Pass catalogue. It can be downloaded and played by Xbox Game Pass Standard, PC, or Ultimate tier subscribers.
This is the second Far Cry game to join Xbox Game Pass in the past few months. Ubisoft previously brought Far Cry: New Dawn to the subscription service in February 2025.
Additionally, Far Cry 4 is available at a discounted price across various stores if you want to buy the game. The discounts are available on the PlayStation Store until May 7, on the Xbox Store until May 5, and on the Ubisoft Store until May 20. The exact pricing will vary based on the region you are purchasing the game from.
For those who are new to the game, Far Cry 4 is the fourth-installment in the popular Far Cry series. It is a first-person shooter video game set in the fictional Himalayan country of Kyrat. It tells the story of a young Kyrati-American, Ajay Ghale, who gets stuck in the middle of a civil war between Kyrat’s Royal Army and a rebel group Golden Path. Pagan Min is the main antagonist and is widely considered one of the best villain characters in video games.
