For everyone eagerly waiting for Grand Theft Auto 6, Rockstar Games has finally broken the silence. The studio officially announced a new release date last week, confirming that GTA 6 will now launch on May 26, 2026, for PS5 and Xbox Series X/S. The announcement caught the gaming world off guard, leaving many both shocked and disappointed by the extended wait.
However, to keep the excitement alive, Rockstar also dropped the highly anticipated second trailer for what is easily one of the most talked-about games of the decade.
Grand Theft Auto VI (GTA 6) Second Trailer Released
Rockstar Games dropped the GTA 6 trailer 2 on its social media platforms at 7:00 PM IST. The first trailer, which premiered on December 5, 2023, has since racked up an impressive 252 million views on YouTube alone. Following that, the studio remained completely silent about the game’s progress until May 2, when it finally announced a revised release date. Now, without any prior announcement or teaser, Rockstar has surprised everyone by releasing the much-anticipated GTA 6 trailer 2.
While the first trailer introduced the dual protagonists and majorly focused on the female protagonist Lucia Caminos, this new trailer gives more details of both characters, especially the male character Jason Duval. You can check the trailer below:
The trailer begins by showing Jason in Vice City, giving us a glimpse of his daily life. It then moves to an important moment when he picks up Lucia after she’s released from prison. From there, things quickly take a dark turn as the two dive back into a life of crime. According to the official description, a simple job soon goes wrong, pulling them into the dangerous world of Leonida. Stuck in a big conspiracy, Jason and Lucia will have to depend on each other to survive.
Beyond the story hints, the trailer gives us a good look at the modern Vice City world. We see everything from working out on the beach and fast car chases to fights in bars, stealing planes, and nights lit up with neon signs. It looks like the classic Grand Theft Auto fun, but even bigger and better. Rockstar also added some cool ’80s music, mixing that old feeling with the new, modern setting.
This marks the first new Grand Theft Auto game in over a decade, and expectations couldn’t be higher. With Grand Theft Auto 5 having sold over 200 million copies since its 2013 release, all eyes are now on GTA 6 as it prepares for its big debut on May 26, 2026.
