Microsoft has officially launched the new Xbox Game Pass Standard tier, offering gamers an updated membership option. The company had previously announced its plans to revamp Game Pass memberships. It introduced this new Standard tier and increased the PC and Ultimate tier prices. Here is all you need to know.
Xbox Game Pass Standard Tier: Price and Benefits
Xbox has launched the Game Pass Standard tier after testing it with Xbox Insider last month. The new standard tier sits between Game Pass Core and Game Pass Ultimate.
Priced at $15 or Rs 619 per month, the Standard tier lets you access hundreds of games in the Game Pass library, online console multiplayer and up to 50% off the purchase of some non-Game Pass games. Unlike Ultimate Tier, the new Standard tier doesn’t include immediate access to day-one game releases and EA Play membership.
According to PureXbox, the Game Pass Standard tier will include 309 titles at launch, significantly fewer than the 506 available with the Ultimate tier. Much of this difference is due to the absence of EA Play games, but major titles like Age of Mythology: Retold, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, Starfield, Diablo 4, and Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2 are also missing.
Microsoft has confirmed that some games, especially day-one releases, may not be immediately available with Standard and could take up to 12 months or more to be added. This means that if you prioritize day-one titles, Ultimate or PC Game Pass are currently the better options.
Xbox Game Pass Standard is a budget-friendly option for console gamers seeking a balance between cost and game variety. While it doesn’t include all the premium features of Game Pass Ultimate, such as day-one PC releases and cloud gaming, it offers a significant upgrade from Game Pass Core.
Although Game Pass Ultimate remains the most comprehensive package with day-one releases, EA Play, and cloud gaming across platforms, Game Pass Standard offers excellent value at a lower cost, making it an appealing choice for those who want an extensive game library without the extras of Ultimate.

- Game Pass Standard (Console): Rs 619 per month, with hundreds of games, online console multiplayer, and Member deals
- Game Pass Ultimate (PC and Console): Rs 829 per month, with hundreds of games, recent day-one titles, EA Play, online console multiplayer, and Member deals
