Sony and Polyphony Digital have announced the launch of My First Gran Turismo, a free-to-play game that will serve as a demo for Gran Turismo 7. The new title will launch on December 6 for PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4. It will have complete PS VR2 support for players with a PS5. Here is everything you need to know.
My First Gran Turismo Details: Cars, Tracks, and More
The official announcement post describes My First Gran Turismo as “a special free-to-play invitation to dive into the exhilarating world of motorsports.” It is aimed at players across all age groups who have yet to play or experience any Gran Turismo games. It will serve as an introduction to the game widely regarded as “the real driving simulator”.
My First Gran Turismo will help players understand the game’s controls and driving/racing mechanics. It has a dedicated License Center to help players improve at different aspects of racing, such as acceleration, braking, and cornering. The game will have various modes such as Music Ralley, Races, Time Trials, and Practice Runs to help improve racing skills.
While Gran Turismo 7 is home to hundreds of cars and racing tracks from around the globe, the free-to-play demo version will offer a limited collection. It will have 18 cars to collect and popular tracks like Kyoto Driving Park, Deep Forest Raceway, and Trial Mountain Circuit to drive on.
The game will offer a one-stop interface for checking the progress through different modes, achievements, and car collections. The best part is if you choose to buy Gran Turismo 7 and use the same PlayStation account as the free demo, all of your collected cars will get imported to the full game.
My First Gran Turismo will also have full PS VR2 support for players with PlayStation 5. The game will be available for download, starting December 6. It will require 15GB storage space on PS5 and 12GB on PS4.
