Sony has announced DualSense Edge controller customisation support is now available for Windows PC users. It can be done with the newly released and fully revamped PlayStation Accessories application. The tool will give DualSense Edge controller users full control over the customisation. It will also continue to allow them to update the controller firmware directly from the Windows PC.
Customise DualSense Edge Controller on Windows
The DualSense Edge controller’s advantage over the standard DualSense controller is its customisation. It lets you tweak various aspects of the controller, including remapping buttons and adjusting trigger dead zone, stick sensitivity/dead zone, and vibration/trigger effect intensity.
The only issue was that users previously needed to have access to a PlayStation 5 to make all these changes. Sony is changing this with the revamped PlayStation Accessories application for Windows. It will now allow PC gamers to customise their DualSense Edge fully.
This new app is available through the PlayStation website for Windows 10 (64-bit) and Windows 11. It will require at least 250MB of storage space. Once the app is installed, connect your DualSense Edge controller to the PC using a USB cable or Bluetooth.
The app will then show you options for controlling different capabilities of the DualSense Edge. You can click on a preferred option for deeper customisation. The tool can also be used for the standard DualSense controller but will offer only firmware update functionality.
DualSense Edge is a controller aimed at players who want full control over its functionality. These users are usually hardcore or professional gamers. Apart from the customisation settings mentioned above, the controller lets them create different profiles for different games. It offers changeable stick caps, back buttons, and replaceable stick modules.
