
The highly-awaited Geoff Keighley’s SummerGameFest 2024 concluded with a two-hour-long event on Friday. During the event, we saw trailers, news, and world premiers of games from all corners of the industry. The event showcased many upcoming titles, spanning established franchises like Monster Hunter and Kingdom Come Deliverance II to intriguing newcomers such as Lego Horizon Adventures and Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions. Indie developers also garnered attention with their innovative offerings.

SummerGameFest 2024: All the New Trailers, Announcements, and Premiers
Lego Horizon Adventures
The event saw the unveiling of Lego Horizon Adventures, which has been kept under wraps for a while and now receives its announcement trailer. This isometric action game features Aloy and her companions as they battle the iconic mechanical creatures that roam around the post-apocalyptic landscape.
The game will be released for PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch and PC (Epic Games and Steam) later this year.
No More Room In Hell 2
No More Room in Hell 2, from Tomborne Studios (known for Chivalry 2) has received a new trailer at the event. The gameplay showcased in the intense action game featured brutal combat against terrifying enemies determined to defeat you. The trailer also emphasized dismemberment mechanics, and various weapons, and hinted at the exciting possibility of an eight-player co-op in a highly replayable world.
The game will be released through early access on Halloween 2024.
Harry Potter Quidditch Champions
Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions takes to the skies on September 3, 2024, for PC (Epic Games Store and Steam), Nintendo Switch, PlayStation, and Xbox.
Cuffbust
Cuffbust, a multiplayer cartoonish co-op prison break game developed by a single person, Developed by the creator of Choo Choo Charles and is set to release in 2025 for PC.
Star Wars Outlaws
Ubisoft’s open-world Star Wars adventure, Star Wars: Outlaws, took centre stage at Summer Game Fest 2024 with a new trailer showcasing protagonist Kay Vess navigating familiar and uncharted corners of the galaxy. The trailer offered glimpses of iconic characters like Lando Calrissian and Jabba the Hutt, leaving fans eager for more details.
While a deeper dive is promised at Ubisoft Forward on June 10th, Star Wars: Outlaws is currently slated for release on August 30th, 2024.
Neva
The team behind the serene platformer Gris is back with a new game, Neva, where you get to wield a sword. This 2D adventure will be released on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PC and Switch in 2024.
Civilization VII
Sid Meier’s Civilization 7, the latest instalment in the renowned historical 4X turn-based strategy series was unveiled at the event. While details are scarce, the title is confirmed for PC and consoles in 2025. While the reveal trailer didn’t show much gameplay, excitement is still high with the developer Firaxis Games and publisher 2K have promised to reveal more during a gameplay showcase in August.

Metaphor
Atlus and Studio Zero unveiled October 11th as the release date for Metaphor: ReFantazio, their upcoming turn-based fantasy strategy game. This spiritual successor to the Persona series boasts a similar art style and gameplay, arriving on PlayStation 4, 5, Windows PC, and Xbox Series X/S.
Black Myth Wukong
Black Myth: Wukong, Steam’s top wishlist game, showed off its collector’s edition at Summer Game Fest. This highly anticipated title launches on PS5 and PC this August 20th, with an Xbox release to be confirmed later.

Batman: Arkham Shadow
Batman Arkham Shadow is the latest instalment in the Arkham franchise and a Meta Quest 3 exclusive VR experience. Created by Camouflaj and Oculus Studios in partnership with Warner Bros and DC, it introduces a new story in the Batman Arkham universe. At Summer Game Fest, fresh footage revealed a younger Batman facing off against the mysterious Rat King, the main villain of the game.

Dragon Ball Sparking Zero
Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero, the revival of the Budokai Tenkaichi series, is blasting onto PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S this October 11th. This latest instalment promises intense Super Saiyan gameplay, featuring beloved characters such as Goku, Frieza, Buu, Vegeta, and more in action-packed battles. Pre-order bonuses include early access to six characters, including a mystery fighter.
Delta Force Hawkops
Next in line was a preview of Delta Force: Hawk Ops, a free-to-play co-op shooter. Drawing inspiration from Ridley Scott’s iconic film, the game mirrors the gameplay of Delta Force: Black Hawk Down. The trailer showcased both co-op multiplayer and revealed a surprise single-player campaign, faithfully recreating scenes from the movie. The game is set for a global alpha test on PC in July 2024.
Blumhouse Games Announced Six Horror Titles
Blumhouse, the media company behind popular horror films like Five Nights at Freddy’s and Megan, is entering the video game industry as an indie game publisher. Their new titles include Crisol Theater of Idols, Grave Seasons, Sleep Awake, Fear the Spotlight, The Simulation, and Project C on PC and Console.
Dune: Awakening
Funcom showcased its open-world survival MMO adaptation of Dune, titled Dune: Awakening, during Summer Game Fest, offering players a deeper insight into its portrayal of the rule of Paul Atreides. Anticipated to return at Gamescom in August, Dune: Awakening is slated for eventual release on PC via Steam, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S.
Alan Wake 2 Night Springs DLC
Remedy dropped a bomb at Summer Game Fest, revealing the first Alan Wake 2 DLC, Night Springs, which launches today, June 8th. Sam Lake appeared at the event’s stage, performing a little dance as he introduced the physical release of Alan Wake 2 and the DLC. Titled after the TV show Alan was involved with, the Night Springs DLC will feature three episodes, each following familiar characters as they explore ‘What If’ scenarios.
Kingdom Come Deliverance 2
Warhorse Studios presents Kingdom Come Deliverance 2, an action RPG set in medieval Bohemia where players take on the role of Henry of Skalitz, seeking vengeance for his parents’ murder but facing unexpected danger during a diplomatic mission. The highly anticipated sequel, showcased with a substantial trailer at SGF is coming later this year on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.
Valorant Coming to Consoles
Riot Games is expanding its horizons, bringing Valorant to PS5 and Xbox Series X/S with a free beta test starting June 14. Although lacking cross-play, players can maintain their progress across platforms with cross-progression. Read more here.
Unknown9: Awakening
Unveiled by Bandai Namco, Unknown9: Awakening invites you on a magical quest this fall. Play as Haroona, a Quaestor who can traverse the mysterious Fold, in this Middle Eastern-inspired fantasy adventure. Arriving on PlayStation 4/5, Xbox One/Series X/S, and PC in Fall 2024.
The First Descendant
Nexon’s sci-fi looter shooter, The First Descendant, is set to launch on July 2, 2024, for PC via Steam, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S, as unveiled in a new trailer showcasing its fast-paced exo-suit action.
Outersloth & Among Us Animated Series Revealed
Outersloth: Among Us creator Innersloth unveiled “Outersloth,” a new game fund to support indie developers like they were during Among Us‘ rise. The showcase highlighted partner studios like Mars First Logistics and Project Dosa.

Phantom Blade Zero
Summer Game Fest 2024 concluded with an exhilarating finale, unveiling a fresh trailer for Phantom Blade Zero developed by S-Game. The latest trailer for Phantom Blade Zero packs a punch, offering a thrilling glimpse into its action-packed gameplay and diverse arsenal.
While a release date is still up in the air, excitement builds as the game prepares for a worldwide demo tour, kicking off at Summer Game Fest and hitting major gaming events throughout the year.

- Open-world survival game Once Human gets a July 9 release date on PC.
- Asgard’s Wrath 2: VR is now out.
- M. Bison, Terry Bogard, Mai, and Elena are coming to Street Fighter 6 as DLC.
- Tears of Metal is a new co-op roguelike where you hack and slash your way through a medieval world. Set to release for PC (TBD).
- SNK’s Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves coming to PC, PS4, PS5, and Xbox Series X in early 2025 with new fighters.
- Battle Crush hits early access on Nintendo Switch this July 27th.
- Following a Gundam-themed reveal for MechaBreak, showcasing its aerial and ground combat, the game announced a closed beta test for PC in August 2024.
- Power Rangers go retro with Rita’s Rewind, a 2D beat ’em up for PC by Digital Eclipse (release date TBA).
- Deer and Boy, a beautiful upcoming platformer by Life Line Game Studio, follows a child who befriends and helps raise an injured fawn. Coming to PC.
- From Silent Hill’s creator, Slitterhead, a parasite-filled horror, arrives on PC, PS4, PS5 & Xbox Series X/S on November 8th, 2024.
- Cult classic Killer Bean blasts into early access this summer as a third-person rogue-lite shooter.
- Cairn, a climbing game by The Game Bakers, creators of Furi and Haven announced.
- Ivy Road and Annapurna Interactive announced Wanderstop.
- Enotria: The Last Song is set to launch on September 19 for PC and PlayStation 5, with a playable demo currently available for those eager to get a sneak peek.
- Sonic X Shadow Generations launches October 25th, 2024 for PC, PlayStation consoles, Switch, and Xbox Series X/S.
- Battle Aces, an RTS game by Uncapped Games, offers streamlined gameplay suitable for both newcomers and veterans, with a closed beta on the horizon.
- Season 3 of The Finals, set in Kyoto, is set for release on June 13, 2024.
