Valve has finally listed its upcoming multiplayer game Deadlock on Steam. Despite numerous leaks and talks, this is the first time the developer has officially acknowledged the game’s existence. Unfortunately, the store page does not offer any new information apart from confirming the game is legit and is in development.
Deadlock Comes to Steam, But You Cannot Wishlist
Deadlock Steam listing has a teaser video clip and an image. None of these reveal anything about the game. Moreover, unless you have heard about or watched the gameplay, you will have no idea about the game through the store listing.
The barebone description reads, “Deadlock is a multiplayer game in early development.” The listing further mentions, “Deadlock is in early development with lots of temporary art and experimental gameplay. Access is currently limited to friend invites via our playtesters.”
There are no other details about Deadlock, like the expected release date or PC system requirements. Users cannot wishlist the game, either. It seems like the studio will not make these details and the wishlist option available until at least the open beta stage.
The good thing is that all other details about Deadlock are already available in the public domain. Numerous people have been streaming Deadlock gameplay on YouTube and other platforms for the last few months, and there have been discussions around the game on various platforms like Reddit.
Deadlock is an upcoming action video game that combines hero shooter and MOBA (Multiplayer Online Battle Arena) genres. Many players have also described it as a game where Overwatch meets DOTA. A leak from a few months ago revealed that Deadlock has 19 different characters.
In hero-shooter video games, each character has unique abilities and playstyles. Some of them are labelled as Great for New Players. The game will have 6v6 third-person multiplayer action during matches.
