Xbox has finally expanded the Stream your own game feature to every Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscriber on a console. It was first released in December 2024, but was limited to Xbox Insider members in the Alpha Skip-Ahead and Alpha rings. The Xbox app on Android and iOS has been updated with support for purchasing new games.
Xbox Stream Your Own Game Comes to Console for Everyone
Stream your own game is an Xbox feature that lets users stream select games they own. It originally supported streaming games on PCs, phones, tablets, gaming handhelds, or any other device with a web browser. The feature was expanded to consoles last year through Insider channels, and now, it is available for everyone with an Xbox Game Pass Ultimate membership.
The new feature release aims to help Xbox Series X/S users save valuable storage and time. Users will be able to stream games on their consoles without waiting for the download and installation to complete.
How to Stream Your Own Game on Xbox Consoles?
- Go to My games & apps on your Xbox Series X/S console.
- Select Full library > Owned games to proceed.
- Supported games in your library will have a cloud badge next to them.
- Alternatively, choose Filter > Ready to play > Cloud gaming to filter games quickly.
- Select the supported game you want to stream. Choose the Play with Cloud Gaming option to start streaming.

Xbox App Supports Purchasing Games
The official Xbox app has been updated with support for purchasing games. It can be used for buying new titles, add-on content, Xbox Game Pass, and redeeming perks. This makes the companion app a lot more useful and reduces the need to switch on the console.
Xbox says the newly added features are currently available on the app’s beta version. It has plans to expand them to everyone on Android and iOS “soon”. We suggest you keep the app updated to use these features as soon as they are released.
