Insomniac Games has officially confirmed that the much-awaited Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 New Game Plus update will arrive on March 7. The announcement has come just a couple of weeks after the first confirmation of the update. It will bump up the game’s version number to 1.002 and bring a host of other changes including new Spider-Man suits apart from the New Game+ mode.
Spider-Man 2 March Update: What’s New?
New Game Plus Mode
The biggest change in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 v.1002 update is undoubtedly the New Game Plus mode. This mode will allow players to carry over their unlocked suits and abilities to play the game at harder difficulties. They will also be able to replay their favourite missions instead of the whole game. It will further bring “Ultimate Levels, Golden Gadget styles, and more!”
New Suits and Styles
The team has added new suit styles for many of the symbiote story suites. These will be available through New Game+ Ultimate Levels. Players will also be allowed to customize the colour of symbiote abilities.
Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 will get Hellfire Gala suits for both Peter and Miles. Both these suits will be available for free. However, there are also new paid suits that have been created by Insomniac Games, Marvel Studios, and Gameheads. These are Fly N’ Fresh suits that will cost $4.99 each during the early access from March 7 to April 5, 2024.
Insomniac has revealed Fly N’ Fresh suits will be available for free to all players at a later date. It is charging for the new suits as part of a fundraising campaign where it will donate 100% of the purchase price in the United States to Gameheads. It further confirmed it has no plans to charge for new Spider-Man 2 suits. The Fly N’ Fresh Suit Pack will include a Fly Suit for Peter, a Fresh Suit for Miles, 10 photo mode stickers, and 2 photo mode frames.
Photo Mode and Accessibility Updates
Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 Photo Mode will get a new action figure mode and stickers. Players will be able to change the time of the day after completing the story to click photos in their preferred type of lighting.
As for accessibility, the team has added Audio Descriptions and Screen Reader to Spider-Man 2 among other changes. These new additions are available only in English, Spanish (LATAM), Spanish (Spain), Italian, German, French, and Japanese.
