- Sony is gearing up to celebrate the 30th anniversary of PlayStation.
- The official anniversary poster has a new PlayStation design that resembles PS5 Pro leaks.
Sony is ready to celebrate PlayStation’s 30th anniversary but while doing so, it seems to have teased the PlayStation 5 Pro (PS5 Pro) design. It announced the 30th-anniversary celebration plans via a blog post. It has a celebration poster, which appears standard until you zoom in. This is when one can notice a new PlayStation console design that resembles recent PS5 Pro leaks. Let’s check out the details.
PlayStation 5 Pro Design Officially Teased?
As shared by people on X, the unique PlayStation console design can be spotted between the PlayStation logo and the number “30.” This design has never been used or shared by Sony before.
It shows the PlayStation console with a faceplate design similar to the PlayStation 5 Slim. The major difference is that it has three grooves instead of just one groove on the Slim variant. You can check out the PlayStation 5 Slim design below.
PlayStation 5 Pro Design: What We Know So Far
This newly spotted design is exactly similar to the one shared by Dealabs last week. The report talked about the PlayStation 5 Pro’s final packaging with the console’s front design printed. It shared a sketch of the design to offer a better idea. It mentioned the three stripes as the biggest difference between the alleged PS5 Pro and PS5 Slim faceplate designs.
The PS5 Pro is said to be available in White colour as has been the case with the previous two variants. It would have two USB-C ports and a power button on the front. There is a possibility that existing PlayStation faceplates will be compatible with the PS5 Pro.
The publication mentions it saw the retail packaging for the PS5 Pro Digital Edition. It could not confirm the existence of a PS5 Pro with physical disc support. The upcoming console could ship with the DualSense controller we get with non-Pro variants.
Sony is expected to announce the PlayStation 5 Pro at an event during the first half of September 2024. As the company has officially shared PlayStation’s 30th-anniversary celebration plans, it would not be surprising to see it unveil a new console to mark the occasion.
