The team has further announced a new subscription tier called Xbox Game Pass Standard. Here is everything you need to know.
Xbox Game Pass Price Hike: New Prices in India
Microsoft has updated the official support page with all the relevant details. There has been a price for the Xbox Game Pass Ultimate tier, the most premium tier for access to everything Microsoft has to offer. It includes day-one Xbox releases and a big catalogue of PC and console games. The PC Game Pass (which has similar benefits but excludes console titles) and the Xbox Pass Core (a rebranded version of what was previously known as Xbox Live Gold) tiers have also seen a price hike. Check out the price details below.
Xbox Game Pass | New Price | Old Price |
Xbox Game Pass Ultimate | Rs 829/month | Rs 549/month |
PC Game Pass | Rs 449/month | Rs 349/month |
Xbox Game Pass Core | Rs 3,349 for 12 months
Rs 1,799 for 6 months |
Rs 1,999 for 12 months

The new prices will come into effect, starting July 10 for new customers. Existing subscribers will see their recurring prices changing after September 12. The team seems to be preparing for the Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 release with the price hike, a day-one release on the subscription service.
Xbox Game Pass Standard: Price and Details
Besides increasing prices, Microsoft has announced a new Xbox Game Pass Standard subscription tier. It will offer players access to the game catalogue for consoles and Xbox Game Pass Core benefits. The biggest difference is that it will not include day-one Xbox releases.
Xbox Game Pass Standard will become available in the coming months, likely around September 2024. It is priced at $14.99 per month in the United States with no words on the local pricing yet.
It is also revealed that the Xbox Game Pass for Console will not be available for new customers, starting July 10. Active subscribers with automatic payment renewal enabled will continue to have access to the tier. If the membership expires and users have automatic renewal disabled, they will lose access to the tier. It will also limit Xbox Game Pass for Console stacking to 13 months, starting September 18.
