Garmin is popularly known for its smartwatches that can track sports activities accurately. It has been over ten years since Garmin launched its watches in India. The company has launched two new smartwatches, its first dedicated GPS-running smartwatches. Garmin has taken the wraps off Garmin Forerunner 265 and Forerunner 965. Both watches feature AMOLED displays and are lightweight watches. The company has described the display of its watches as light, bright, and made for any distance. The watches support features such as always-on displays and are legible in all weather conditions. 

Pricing and Availability of Newly Launched Garmin Watches

Garmin Forerunner 265 and Forerunner 965

Garmin has launched the Forerunner 965 at USD 599.99, which approximately converts to Rs. 49,00. In contrast, the Forerunner 265 can be purchased at USD 449.99 (Rs. 36,770 approx.). The Forerunner 965 will be available for purchase globally by late March 2023. Garmin hasn’t commented about the availability of the newly launched watches in India. 

Garmin Forerunner 965 Specifications

Gramin Forerunner 965 is a top-end model which is crafted especially for athletes. The watch features a 1.4-inches AMOLED display with a resolution of 454 x 454 pixels. Garmin has equipped the watch with a 47mm dial and a light titanium bezel. It uses Corning Gorilla DX Glass for the protection of the display. 

Garmin Forerunner 965

The dial is paired with a silicone strap available in Black/Powder Gray, Yellow/Black, and Whitestone/Powder Gray color options. The watch has a dimension of 47.2 x 47.2 x 13.2 (mm) and weighs 53 grams. The brand equips the watch with a battery that can last up to 23 days in smartwatch mode, 31 hours in GPS only, and 10.5 hours with GPS-Only GNSS mode with music.

The watch is equipped with 32GB internal storage, which can be used to store songs. It also features multi-band GPS and built-in maps reducing the dependence on smartphones. The watch brings features such as performance metrics like load ratio, which explains the balance between athletes’ training load and the load they can handle. It will also offer real-time stamina info to prevent burnout and track & manage their exertion levels. The detailed climbing metrics will inform current and upcoming climbs, including gradient, distance, and elevation gain.

Garmin Forerunner 265 Series Specifications

The Garmin Forerunner 265 is available in 42 and 46-mm dial options. The watch is available in different strap color options: Whitestone/Tidal Blue, Black/Amp Yellow, Aqua/Black, Whitestone/Neo Tropic, Light Pink/Whitestone, and Black/Powder Gray. Garmin uses Corning Gorilla Glass 3 to protect the 1.3-inch AMOLED display. 

The brand claims that 42mm has a battery life of 24 hours in GPS mode and 15 days in smartwatch mode. In contrast, the 46mm offers up to 13 days in smartwatch mode and 20 hours in GPS mode without music. The watch includes intelligent notifications, Spotify/ Deezer/ Amazon Music offline, incident detection, LiveTrack, and Garmin Pay contactless payments.

The watch also offers tracking of health 24 x 7, a wrist-based Pulse Ox sensor, Body Battery energy monitoring, advanced sleep monitoring & sleep score, stress tracking, menstrual cycle and pregnancy tracking, and more. The performance tools from Garmin Firstbeat Analytics help athletes become better and faster. It has VO2 max, performance conditions, training effects, and more features. 

Athletes can plan their race strategy using PacePro and confidently run using SatIQ technology and multi-band GPS.
