At its Made by Google event in New York City yesterday, the Mountain View-based company unveiled its latest Pixel smartphones – Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL. Less than a day after their official announcement, the two flagship Android smartphones have now been listed on Flipkart. The landing page on Flipkart makes it quite clear that the third generation Pixel smartphones will be sold in India exclusively via Flipkart. Pixel fans in India will be able to pre-order the Pixel 3 or Pixel 3 XL starting tomorrow, i.e. October 11th.
Google Pixel 3, Pixel 3 XL Pre-Orders in India Start Tomorrow
Pre-orders in India will begin on Flipkart starting tomorrow, i.e. October 11th. The smaller Pixel 3 will start at Rs.71,000 for the 64GB storage variant, while the Pixel 3 XL has been priced at Rs.83,000 for the 64GB variant. Google has priced the 128GB variants of the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL at Rs.80,000 and Rs.92,000, respectively. Needless to say, both the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL are priced higher than the majority of their rivals.
Moving on to the launch offers, HDFC Bank customers will be eligible to receive a flat discount of Rs.5,000 on the new Pixel smartphones when they pay using their credit card, debit card, or net banking. Flipkart is offering 50% Buyback value when customers upgrade to a new Google Pixel device on Flipkart within 12 months. However, in order to receive a guaranteed Buyback value of up to Rs.35,500, you will need to purchase the Buyback Guarantee Policy for Rs.199 during checkout. Customers will also be able to avail extra Rs.4,000 off on exchange and No Cost EMI options for up to 18 months on all major credit cards. Both the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL come in three color options – Clearly White, Just Black, and Not Pink.
Google Pixel 3, Pixel 3 XL Specifications
The Google Pixel 3 comes with a 5.5-inch Flexible OLED display offering 1080 x 2160 pixels resolution and UHDA certification for HDR support. It runs on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 octa-core chipset with an Adreno 630 GPU, coupled with 4GB of RAM. In terms of storage, the handset comes in 64GB and 128GB storage variants. At the rear is a single 12.2MP rear camera with Dual Pixel PDAF, 1.4um pixel size, optical image stabilization, as well as electronic image stabilization. On the front is a dual 8MP + 8MP setup. The smartphone is fueled by a relatively small 2915mAh capacity battery.
Google Pixel 3 XL sports a larger 6.3-inch Flexible OLED display with 1440 x 2960 pixels resolution. In terms of the core hardware specs, the Pixel 3 XL is identical to the smaller Pixel 3. The major difference, apart from the larger display, is the beefier 3430mAh capacity battery. Both smartphones sport a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor, wireless charging support, and run on the latest Android 9.0 Pie operating system with quite a few impressive new software features.
