In just three days from now, Google will be unveiling its third-generation flagship Pixel smartphones – Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL. Ahead of the launch event in New York city on October 9, alleged images showing a Pixel 3 XL being unboxed have been leaked online. In addition to the Pixel 3 XL unboxing images, a magazine advertisement showing the Pixel 3 has also been leaked on the web. As suggested by previously leaked images of the two smartphones, Google is not expected to introduce any major design changes this year.
Google Pixel 3 XL Unboxing Images Leaked
The Google Pixel 3 XL unboxing images confirm the smartphone will be very similar to the Pixel 2 XL in terms of design. While the notch is the key design highlight on the front of the handset, at the rear we see the signature two-tone Black finish with a single camera module and a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor.
What is disappointing, however, is that the Pixel 3 XL still has a significant chin at the bottom, which means the screen-to-body ratio of the smartphone will not be very different compared to its predecessor. If rumors are to be believed, the Pixel 3 XL will have a massive 6.7-inch display with 1440 x 2960 pixels Quad HD+ resolution and an 18.5:9 aspect ratio. With no significant reduction in the size of the bezels, the Pixel 3 XL might be slightly bigger than most 2018 Android flagship handsets with a similar screen size.
Apart from the Black colour seen in the images below, the Pixel 3 XL will also be available in White and Sand Pink colour options. The other two colour options will also have a two-tone design at the rear. Apart from the design of the smartphone, the images reveal the box contents as well. The Pixel 3 XL will be bundled with a USB Type-C cable, fast charger, USB Type-C to 3.5mm jack adapter, USB-C to USB-A adapter, and wired earbuds.
Google Pixel 3 Magazine Ad Leaked
The smaller of the two 2018 Pixel smartphones, the Pixel 3 has been spotted in an advertisement published in a UK carrier magazine. According to the advertisement, the Pixel 3 will be available in the UK starting at £58 per month with an upfront cost of £10. Customers who order the Pixel 3 will also receive 6 free months of Apple Music and 24 months inclusive access to the BTR Sport app. The bigger Pixel 3 XL, on the other hand, will be available from £63 per month with a £20 upfront cost.
Apart from the carrier pricing of the two smartphones, the advertisement also talks about the “Top Shot” feature on the new Pixel phones. The feature apparently helps users capture the perfect shot every time. According to the description in the magazine, the feature will work similarly to the AI camera feature on the Galaxy Note 9 that detects when someone blinks or if the shot turns out blurry. The Pixel 3 will also have a squeezable frame, allowing users to get help from the Google Assistant by squeezing the device. Turning off notifications will also be quite simple. All users need to do is just flip the Pixel 3 face down to automatically turn off notifications.
