Google Pixel 6, 6 Pro Available For Pre Orders in These 8 Countries, And India is Not One of Them

Just like the Pixel 5 series, it looks like Google won't bring the Pixel 6 series to India.

The Google Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro smartphones were just launched with Google’s new Tensor chipset, revamped camera setup, and Android 12 software out of the box. Soon after the launch, Google announced the newly launched Pixel 6 duo will be available for pre-order starting today. The devices will be available in eight markets only and that doesn’t include India.

No Google Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro for India

The Google Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro smartphones are now available for pre-order in eight nations. The Pixel 6 series is now up for pre-order in the United States, United Kingdom, Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Japan, and Taiwan. Unfortunately, India is not on the list.Google Pixel 6 Pro

This isn’t the first time the search engine giant has skipped launching its phone in India. Previously, the company had skipped the launch of Pixel 5 series smartphones in India and also the Pixel 4a 5G was not launched in India. The Google Pixel 4a is the only Google device available in India right now and it was launched back in October 2020 一 a couple of months after the global launch.

The Indian Google Store website has also not listed any Pixel smartphones apart from the Pixel 4a. Interestingly, the site has listed Nest Aware and Nest Cam on the Indian site which means we might hear more on the same from Google India soon. For now, there is no word on the availability of the Google Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro in India.

In terms of pricing, the Pixel 6 starts at $599 (roughly Rs 45,900) and the Pixel 6 Pro starts at $899 (roughly Rs 67,500).

Google Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro Specs and features

Both the devices are powered by Google’s new Tensor chip which is a custom-built SoC. Both phones also come with Google Titan M2 security chip for additional security. The Pixel 6 Pro sports a 6.7-inch QHD+ LTPO OLED 120Hz display while the vanilla Pixel 6 has a 6.4-inch FHD+ 90Hz OLED screen. Both devices run Android 12 out of the box and are IP68-rated for water and dust resistance.

In the camera department, the Google Pixel 6 features a 50MP primary camera, a 12MP ultrawide sensor while the Pixel 6 Pro gets an additional 48MP telephoto lens with 4x optical zoom capabilities. For selfies and video calls, the Pixel 6 comes with an 8MP front camera sensor, whereas the Pro model has an 11.1MP front camera.

Underneath, the Pixel 6 packs in a 4614mAh battery and the Pro version comes with a 5,003mAh battery. Both phones support 30W USB-C Charging, however, you will have to purchase the adapter separately as you won’t get one in the box.
