Google is currently gearing up for the Google I/O 2021 annual developer conference. Ahead of the May 18 event, Pixel 6 series design renders have leaked online. The leaked renders have taken many by surprise as they seem too good to be true. Another leaked information around the Pixel camera has surfaced online. Google will finally use a new sensor on Pixel smartphones later this year. The leak comes from tipster Max Weinbach, who has maintained a pretty good record around leaks. The exact details about the sensor are currently unknown. Let’s take a look at the Google Pixel 6, Pixel 6 Pro leaked specifications, features, and other details.

Google Pixel 6, Pixel 6 Pro tipped to get a new camera sensor

Google is expected to launch the Pixel 6 series in an all-new design. According to a new leak, the camera sensor is too getting an upgrade.

Tipster Max Weinbach claims that Google will introduce a new camera sensor on the Pixel 6 series. The tipster did not reveal the sensor details but confirmed that Google will finally ditch the Sony IMX363 sensor. The company has been using the IMX363 since the launch of Pixel 3. It is a 12.2MP 1.4μm sensor that has an f/1.8 aperture. Competitors have moved to use a 108MP sensor on their flagship devices. However, keep in mind that a higher resolution sensor does not guarantee a better image. Other factors like the sensor size, software optimisation also play a key role. The upgraded camera sensor could also mean that Google will introduce 4K60fps video recording on the Pixel 6 series.

The leaked renders suggest that the vanilla model will come with a dual-camera setup on the back. Pixel 6’s Pro model, on the other hand, will have a triple-camera setup. We can expect the Pro model to feature the main, ultrawide, and telephoto camera sensors. The standard model is likely to settle for the main and ultrawide cameras.

On the front, the devices have a close to no-bezel design. The display is surrounded by very thin bezels. You can click here to check our coverage of the Pixel 6 series leaked renders.
