The Google Pixel 6a was announced a month ago at the Google IO 2022. However, the device will be up for pre-order only on July 21st in the US. With over two months of time between the official announcement and the launch date, we have already seen a couple of Pixel 6a unboxing videos on the internet.
First, Google France’s training channel posted a video of the Pixel 6a’s key features. More recently, the device was unboxed in a TikTok video and was also listed for sale on Facebook Marketplace. Now, a new video of the device has been uploaded on YouTube by a Malaysian YouTuber.

Fazli Halim, a YouTuber based out of Malaysia has posted a new video recently with the “Google Pixel 6a Sampai Malaysia” title, in which he unboxes the device and also talks about what he likes and dislikes about the device 一 which gives us some clarity on what the device will be like in the real life. While the video is in the Malay language, the video gives us a general idea of the device.
As for the unboxing, the box will come with the device (Pixel 6a), a Type-C to Type-C charging cable, a USB to Type-C adapter, and some paperwork. The YouTuber seems to like the phone’s display, battery, and fingerprint scanner. He expressed his disappointment in the selfie camera, 18W charging, and overall camera departments. The box seems to be an official retail unit and it is unclear if Google will take any action or if the video will be taken down. At the time of writing this, the video is available on YouTube.
In terms of specifications, the Pixel 6a is powered by the Tensor chipset and it comes with a 6.1-inch Full HD+ OLED display with a 20:9 aspect ratio and 60Hz refresh rate. Further, it comes with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. It packs a 4,410mAh battery and supports 18W fast charging out of the box. The Pixel 6a has an 8MP front camera. On the back, there is a dual-camera setup. The phone has a 12MP main camera and a 12MP ultrawide camera. It runs on Android 12 out of the box. The Google Pixel 6a is also confirmed to launch in India later this year.
