Google Pixel 7a With Tensor G2 SoC, 90Hz OLED Display Launched: Price in India, Availability, and Launch Offers

The Google Pixel 7a launched today at the IO 2023 event. Google hosted its annual developer conference at the Shoreline Amphitheatre in Mountain View, California. During the annual developer conference, Google made a bunch of announcements about new and upcoming hardware and software products. Among the list of products announced tonight, the Pixel 7a is one of the crowd favourites.

The Pixel 7a is already available for purchase on Flipkart in India. In terms of improvements, the next-gen Pixel A-series device brings upgrades in the form of a new Tensor chipset, improved screen refresh rate, better camera, and much more. But first, let’s take a look at the Pixel 7a in detail.

Google Pixel 7a: Price in India and Availability

The Google Pixel 7a is priced at Rs 43,999 in India. The phone will be available in three colour options 一 Charcoal (Black), Sea (Blue), and Snow (White). As for the availability, the device is now available for purchase via Flipkart. 

In terms of offers, users can get a Rs 4,000 instant discount with HDFC bank credit cards or get an additional Rs 4,000 off on exchange offers. Additionally, you can also get the Fitbit Inspire 2 for Rs 3,999 and the Pixel Buds A-Series at Rs 3,999 as well. In addition to this, Google is also offering free screen damage protection for one year. 

Google Pixel 7a: Features and Specifications

The Google Pixel 7a features a 6.1-inch Full HD OLED screen, which is similar to the last gen. However, the Pixel 7a has a 90 Hz screen, making it the first A series device in the Google Pixel lineup to feature a high refresh rate panel. In addition, the front of the device is protected by Gorilla Glass. 

Under the hood, the device is powered by Google Tensor G2, the same one featured on the Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro. The G2 SoC is Google’s custom chipset with advanced machine learning and speech recognition and Google’s AI for improved call quality, battery life, and photo and video quality. It is also integrated with a Titan M2 security chip with multiple layers of security. For security, the handset features an in-display fingerprint scanner, and there is also support for face unlock here.

The phone comes with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage in India. The device is built using a metal frame and comes with a visor-style rear camera. There is an IP67 dust and water resistance rating for the device. 

In the camera department, the Pixel 7a comes with a 64 MP rear camera, which is accompanied by a 13MP ultra-wide angle lens, which supports up to 8x Super Res zoom. In addition, the camera brings features like night sight, magic eraser, long exposure, real tone, guided frame, and photo unblur. The device also supports 4K video recording, 

Further, the Google Pixel 7a is packed with a 4,385mAh  battery unit with support for 18W fast charging, and the 7a also comes with 5W wireless charging support. Like the Pixel 7 series, Google won’t be bundling a charging in the box. The device runs on Android 13 and will get at least five years of security and three Android updates. 

Other features include 5G support, Type-C charging port, Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.3, and YouTube Premium and Google One subscriptions for new users with the phone purchase.
