Google is all set to unveil some products at the I/O 2023 event, which is scheduled for May 10. The search engine giant will announce Android 14 at the event. During the annual conference, the company will also launch Pixel 7A, Pixel Fold, and many other products. Ahead of the event, popular tipster Steve Hemmerstoffer commonly known as OnLeaks, has partnered with SmartPrix to reveal the renders of the upcoming Google Pixel 8 Pro smartphone. The tipster says the smartphone will be showcased at the event, with a launch scheduled for Q3 or Q4 of 2023. He has also revealed the 360-degree view and dimensions of the upcoming smartphone.
Everything to Know About Google Pixel 8 Pro
The renders reveal that Google will redesign the smartphone with round corners. The search engine giant has finally decided to part away from the boxy design. The rounded corners in the renders indicate a similar design to the Google Nexus 6P smartphone. Google will continue to equip the rear cameras in the camera bar.
Compared to the Pixel 7 Pro (review), the upcoming Google Pixel 8 Pro will feature a single oval shape cut-out for housing the cameras. An additional sensor can be seen below the LED flash. Max Weibach, a senior contributor to 9to5Google, tipped that it would be a LiDAR sensor. He also added that Google had cleverly integrated the camera bar with Pixel 6 Pro to add more sensors gradually in the future.
Google’s logo can be seen in the middle of the device’s back panel. The tipster reveals that it will feature a 6.52-inch flat display with a centered punch-hole. The display will have slim bezels on the top and sides but feature thick bezels on the bottom. The microphone of the device is placed on the top. The USB type-C port is placed between the speaker grille on the bottom.
The power button and volume rockers on the right side and left side of the Pixel 8 Pro is clean except for the SIM tray. The device will have a dimension of 162.6 x 76.5 x 8.7mm and a thickness of 12mm (approx.) with the camera bump. Previously, it was revealed that the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro smartphones would be codenamed shiba and husky.
The upcoming smartphones are tipped to launch with the upcoming Google Tensor G3 chipset. These chipsets would be based on the forthcoming Exynos 2300 SoC, built using Samsung’s 3nm process. The switching to the G3 chipset would improve performance and efficiency as the G2 SoC was based on a 5nm process.
There were reports about the upcoming Pixel flagships to support staggered HDR technology. The technology will help the smartphone to capture short and long exposure scenes at the same time. Google is said to equip the Pixel 8 Pro with an ultra-sonic in-display fingerprint sensor.
