Google Pixel 7 series launched a few weeks ago in select markets. The company launched two flagship phones, namely the Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro. Google has launched the devices in India as well. It has been a few weeks since the Pixel 7 series went on sale in India and details about the next generation of Pixel phones have leaked as well. A new WinFuture report has revealed details about the Google Pixel 8 series.

This is possibly the first time that we are hearing some details about the Pixel 8 series. Tipster Roland Quandt has revealed the codenames of two upcoming Google smartphones while sharing some details about the hardware. Let’s take a look at the Google Pixel 8 series specifications, features and other details known so far.

Google Pixel 8 Series Tipped

Google Pixel 8 series is like to include two smartphones. These include the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro, the codenames of which have leaked. According to the WinFuture report, the Pixel 8 could have the codename Shiba, whereas the 8 Pro could be codenamed Husky.

The report reveals that the Google Shiba device has a Full HD+ display with 2268 x 1080-pixel resolution. The other phone has a better display resolution of 2822 x 1344 pixels.

In addition to the codenames and display resolutions, the report also revealed some details about the SoC of the two phones. WinFuture claims that the new Google processor is codenamed Zuma and has the same modem as the Google Tensor G2 found in the Pixel 7 series. It is speculated that the Zuma SoC is a customised variant of the Exynos 2300 SoC made by Samsung. Zuma would have optimisations done for machine learning and AI.

The report does not reveal any details about the performance unit in general. We are months away from the launch of the Pixel 8 series. Therefore, it is too early to expect any concrete details about the phones at this moment.

The Pixel 8 series could be teased at the Google I/O 2023 event in May 2023. The company has been trying to one-up the rumour mill by dropping teasers about its flagship phones months before the launch. Going by history, Pixel phones are among the most leaked phones every year. Therefore, unless Google does something to curtail the leaks, we can expect some more details in the coming weeks.

Meanwhile, customers can consider buying the Pixel 7 series in India. The Pixel 7 has a launch price of Rs 59,999 for the sole 8GB RAM option with 128GB of internal storage. There is also the Pixel 7 Pro, which is priced at Rs 84,999 for the 12GB + 128GB storage option. The Pixel 7 series is available in India exclusively via Flipkart.
