At the Google IO 2022 Keynote last night, Google made some surprise announcements along with the launch of the Pixel 6a smartphone. The search engine giant announced the Pixel Buds Pro true wireless earbuds, which were tipped a few days back.
Apart from that, the company also showcased the upcoming Google Pixel smartwatch and Google Pixel Tablet. The Pixel Buds Pro will be available starting July in the US, while the Pixel Watch will be launched later this year along with the Pixel 7 series. The tablet on the other hand will launch in 2023. Let’s take a look at all the three products in detail.
Google Pixel Buds Pro
The Google Pixel Buds Pro are TWS with premium features like active noise cancellation and an immersive audio experience. The TWS on the inside comes with a 6-core audio chip custom-built chip that runs Google-developed algorithms and is tuned by Google’s in-house audio engineering team. The Buds Pro comes with Silent Seal to adapt to the user’s ear to help maximize the amount of noise that’s cancelled. The built-in sensors will measure the pressure in the ear canal to offer a comfortable fit. On a single charge, the Buds Pro are rated to last up to 11 hours without ANC and up to 7 hours with ANC on. With the included case, these buds can last up to 31 hours. Further, these also come with built-in Google Assistant and you also get real-time translation in 40 languages. Other features include transparency mode, wireless charging, becoming mics, multipoint connectivity, volume EQ, and touch control.
The Pixel Buds Pro will be available in Coral, Fog, Charcoal, and Lemongrass colour options and the product will be up from pre-order starting July 21st in the US market.
Google Pixel Watch
The Pixel Watch was rumoured to launch later this year but, Google decided to show off the watch at the conference. Google gave us the first official look at the upcoming and Google’s first-ever smartwatch, the Google Pixel Watch. This will be launched later this year along with the Pixel 7 series smartphones.
The upcoming smartwatch from Google will run on Wear OS with fluid navigation and smart notifications. It is also voice-enabled and comes with Google Assistant. The watch also supports Google Wallet, Google Maps apps, and the Google Home app for Wear OS to control smart home devices. The Pixel Watch comes with deep integration with Fitbit, which will bring industry-leading health and fitness-related features. The watch will come with an HR monitor, sleep tracking and active zone minutes.
The watch comes with a circular dome design with a crown button on the side. The wearable is made up of recycled stainless steel material and it offers support for customizable bands as well.
Google Pixel Tablet
The last sneak peek at the event was the all-new Pixel tablet from Google. The next-gen Android tablet will be launched in 2023 and it will run on Google’s Tensor SoC. It is said to be a perfect companion to the Pixel phone. The tablet’s design revealed that it will feature a single rear camera and a selfie camera on the front. More details on the tablet will be shared later next year.
