Google is long rumoured to be working on a foldable phone. The Google Pixel Fold has been a part of the rumour mill’s leaks for quite some time. Some reports suggested that Google had dropped plans to launch the Pixel Fold. However, it looks like the Pixel Fold will launch next year. The company has not confirmed any details at the time of writing this but a new rumour has revealed the design, price and other details of the Pixel Fold.

Tipster Jon Prosser from Front Page Tech has revealed the design of the Pixel Fold. The tipster has also revealed the launch timeline of the Google foldable phone. Let’s take a look at the Google Pixel Fold design renders, price, launch timeline and other details.

Google Pixel Fold: What it Could Look Like

The Google Pixel Fold is said to launch in May 2023, most likely during Google I/O. The foldable phone will rival the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4. Prosser, who leaked the Pixel Watch months before its launch, claims that the Pixel Fold will debut for $1799 (roughly Rs 1,45,900). The price is the same as the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4.

The tipster also revealed the design renders of the Google foldable phone. On the outside, the Pixel Fold has the same visor camera module as the Pixel 7 series. The visor does not run end-to-end though to house the triple-camera setup on the back. On the left side of the camera module are the LED flash module and microphones.

The Pixel Fold will have a glass and metal construction. The device will be available in two colours at launch — Chalk and Obsidian. Prosser claims that the cover display will have thin bezels and sport a hole-punch camera at the top centre. There will be a 9.5MP front camera. On the inside, there is a “massive display with massive bezels,” according to Prosser. The top and bottom bezels are considerably thicker than the sides. Prosser further revealed that the Pixel Fold has a 9.5MP front camera for the inner display at the top right corner.

The foldable phone also has dual speakers — one cutout at the top and the other at the bottom. It will feature the power and volume buttons on the right edge. The power button will double up as a fingerprint scanner.

While Prosser did not reveal the display specs, DSCC’s Ross Young had previously claimed that the Pixel Fold will come with a 6.19-inch outer screen. The foldable display will be 8-inches in size, somewhat similar to the Galaxy Z Fold 4. Considering Google is now launching phones with its custom chip, the Pixel Fold might feature the new Tensor G2 or the next generation of it.

Other details of the Pixel Fold are under wraps. We will share more details as and when available.
