There have been multiple leaks related to the Pixel 7a and the Pixel Fold since the last few weeks. A couple of days back, the Pixel 7a and the Pixel Fold’s pricing and availability details were revealed by 9to5Google and Jon Prosser. Additionally, via a CNBC report, we learned that the Google Pixel Watch will be given as a freebie on the purchase of the Pixel Fold. Now, in a recent development, Jon Prosser of Front Page Tech has revealed the detailed specifications, pricing, and availability details of the Google Pixel Fold ahead of the official launch.
Google Pixel Fold Pricing, Specifications Revealed
Jon Prosser reiterates that the Pixel Fold 256GB storage model will be priced at $1,799 (roughly Rs 1,47,500). On the other hand, the 512GB storage variant will cost $1919 (roughly Rs 1,57,400). The Pixel Fold 256GB model will be available for purchase in Chalk and Obsidian colour option, while the 512GB storage variant will come in Obsidian colour only. Additionally, Prosser implies that along with the purchase of the Pixel Fold, Google will be giving the Pixel Watch.
As far as the specifications go, the Pixel Fold’s inner display will measure about 7.6-inch. It will be an OLED panel that will have a 6:5 aspect ratio, 2208 × 1840 pixel resolution, and a 380 PPI pixel density. The inner display on the device will have an ultra-thin glass protected by plastic. On the other hand, the outer display on the device will measure about 5.8 inches, and it will have a 17:9 aspect ratio, 408 PPI pixel density, and a Full HD+ resolution. Both the display on the device will offer a 120Hz refresh rate.
Similar to the Pixel 7 series, the Pixel Fold will come with a Google One VPN. As for the optics purpose, as per Prosser, the handset will feature a 48MP primary camera that will have a f/1.7 aperture, OIS, and 82-degree field of view. The 48MP sensor will be accompanied by a 10.8MP ultra-wide lens which will have a 121.1-degree field of view and f/2.2 aperture. The device will also have a 10.8MP telephoto lens which will have a f/3.05 aperture and 5x optical zoom with up to 20x digital. The rear-facing camera will offer up to 60fps 1080p video recording support.
The front-facing outer camera on the handset will be of 9.5MP which will have a f/2.2 aperture and fixed autofocus. The inner selfie camera will be of 8MP and it will have a f/2.2 aperture. As far as the other specifications go, Prosser reveals that the device will pack up to 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 256GB/512GB of internal storage. The smartphone will be powered by Tensor G2 chipset. The device will also include a Titan M2 security chip. The handset will around 283 grams.
As per Prosser, Google will drop the teaser of the Pixel Fold on April 26th, and the pre-order of the device will start from May 10th via Google Store. The handset will be available for pre-order via other stores from May 30th. Lastly, the handset will start shipping on June 27th.
