Google is gearing up to launch its first foldable phone, the Pixel Fold. The Google foldable phone is likely to debut at the upcoming I/O 2023 event. Google has not confirmed any details about launching a foldable phone. However, looking at the flood of leaks on the web, it would not be a surprise if the foldable Pixel launches at I/O 2023. The Pixel Fold has now been spotted on the FCC certification website. As per the listing, the Google foldable phone has the model number G9FPL and G0B96.

Google Pixel Fold Launch is Imminent
The Google Pixel Fold is likely to launch on May 10. Ahead of the launch, the foldable phone has cleared the FCC certification website. As per the listing, the Pixel Fold will come with support for multiple 5G bands. The listing also reveals that the Pixel foldable phone will support Wi-Fi 6E.
Design schematics uploaded on the FCC website reveal the folding mechanism of the Pixel foldable smartphone.
The listing does not reveal any details about the foldable phone’s specs. However, thanks to the rumour mill, we pretty much know everything about the Pixel Fold.
The Pixel Fold will launch in two storage options — 12GB + 256GB and 12GB + 512GB. The 256GB variant is likely to be priced at $1,799 (roughly Rs 1,47,500), whereas the 512GB variant will cost $1919 (roughly Rs 1,57,400). It will launch in Porcelain and Obsidian colours.
The Pixel Fold’s outer display is said to be 5.8 inches tall. The OLED display will have a 17.4:9 aspect ratio and a 1080 x 2092 resolution. It will refresh up to a 120Hz and come with a layer of Corning Gorilla Glass Victus. The outer display is likely to offer 1550 nits of peak brightness.

There will be a 7.6-inch OLED foldable display with a 6:5 aspect ratio and a 1820 x 2208-pixel resolution. The foldable display will be slightly less bright with a peak brightness of 1450 nits. The Pixel Fold’s foldable display will also refresh at up to 120Hz. There will be an IPX8 rating for water resistance.
The phone will have slightly thick bezels at the top and bottom of the foldable display, according to the leaked official design images. There will be an 8MP front camera at the top right corner of the bezel. The cover display’s hole-punch cutout will feature a 9.5MP front camera. On the back, the Pixel Fold will have a horizontal, protruding bar for the triple-camera setup. There will be a 48MP 1/2” main sensor with an f/1.7 aperture, a 10.8MP 1/3” sensor with an f/2.2 aperture and a 121.1-degree field of view and a 10.8MP 1/3.1” sensor with an f/3.05 aperture and 5x optical zoom support.
There will be a Tensor G2 SoC under the hood. The phone will also get the Titan M2 chip. Google will launch the foldable phone with Android 13 out of the box. It will get up to five years of security support. Lastly, the phone is said to pack a 4821mAh battery (rated) and offer 30W fast charging support via a USB Type-C 3.2 Gen 2 port.
