Google Pixel Fold Buyers All Set to Get Pixel Watch as a Freebie

Google is reportedly all set to launch its first foldable smartphone – the Google Pixel Fold. As per a leak, the Google Pixel Fold and Google Pixel 7a will be unveiled on May 10 at Google I/O. The Google Pixel Fold, codenamed Felix, will cost $1,799 (approx Rs 1,47,500) as per an earlier leak and will be available for purchase starting June 27.

Now, a new report by CNBC reveals that Google plans to bundle the Google Pixel Watch as a freebie with every purchase of the Google Pixel Fold. To those unaware, Google Pixel Watch is Google’s first attempt in the smartwatch segment and was announced last year in October. Let us take a closer look at the details.


The Google Pixel Watch features a 1.6-inch circular display and comes in Black, Silver, and Gold colour options. The Pixel Watch is priced at $349 (approx Rs 29,000) for the Wi-Fi variant and $399 (approx Rs 33,000) for the LTE model. With Pixel Watch as a freebie, Google might attract some buyers for its first foldable device.

Citing internal documents and images accessed by CNBC, the publication reveals that the Pixel Fold will be priced at upward of $1,700 which is in line with the previous leak. The report further claims that Google plans to market its upcoming foldable device as water-resistant and pocket-sized. The report also suggests that Google Pixel Fold will feature a 5.8-inch cover display.

The Google Pixel Fold will follow a book-style form factor and unfolding it will reportedly reveal a 7.6-inch display panel. The upcoming Pixel Fold is tipped to sport a bigger battery compared to the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Google will market 24 hours of battery life for the Pixel Fold. As per CNBC report, the Google Pixel Fold will last for about 72 hours in low-power mode.

The Google Pixel Fold is tipped to weigh around 283 grams and will be powered by the Tensor G2 chipset. This is the same chipset that powers Google Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro. The company might also use the same chipset on its upcoming affordable Pixel 7a.

Google will bundle the Google Pixel Watch as a freebie with each purchase of the Pixel Fold. Apart from it, Google will also offer a trade-in option to Pixel, iPhone, and other Android smartphone users to swap their devices for Google Pixel Fold.
