The Pixel Watch 2 has been officially launched at the Made By Google event today. The event was held in New York today and the company made several new announcements including the Google Pixel 8 series, updates to Google Pixel Buds Pro, and much more. In addition to these new announcements, the search engine giant also announced a new smartwatch and the successor to the Google Pixel Watch from 2022, the Google Pixel Watch 2.

The Pixel Watch 2 comes with an OLED screen and the biggest upgrade to the wearable comes in the form of a new chipset. Google’s new wearable is now powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon W5+ chipset. Google Pixel Watch 2: Price and Availability

The Google Pixel Watch 2 is priced at Rs 39,900 in India and the watch will be available for purchase via Flipkart. It will be available in Polished Silver, Matte Black, and Champagne Gold colour options with multiple band options.

With the Pixel Watch 2, Google is offering Google software experience and Google and Fitbit health experience 一 offering the best of both worlds. In terms of design, the watch comes with some minor changes but, overall looks similar to the last-generation watch. The Pixel Watch 2 is also IP68 rated to protect the watch against dust and water.

Further, the wearable is powered by a new quad-core CPU, which is the Snapdragon W5+ chipset, as the leaks suggested previously. This is paired with 2GB of RAM and 32GB storage. In terms of battery life (306mAh), the watch is rated to last up to 24 hours even with Always on Display turned on. A quick 30-minute charge is said to offer 12 hours of usage on the wearable. For visuals, the watch features a 1.2-inch OLED screen with 384 x 384-pixel resolution with Gorilla Glass 5 protection and 1,000 nits of peak brightness.

With regards to software, the watch runs on WearOS 4 with support for apps like WhatsApp and new updates from apps like Gmail, and YouTube Music making things smoother. Google has also added medical assistant and location-sharing features to the new watch. Coming to the health and fitness features, Google has integrated three new sensors, updated AI algorithms, and upgraded the overall software experience on the watch.

In terms of health and fitness features, the watch features a heart rate sensor, and blood-oxygen and supports heart rate training, pace training, and a whole bunch of others with Fitbit’s integration. The watch is available in both Wi-Fi only and LTE variants and Google is also offering multiple strap and colour options of the Watch 2. Another addition comes in the form of an Ultra-wideband or UWB. Other features include GPS, GLONASS, BeiDou, Galileo, Quasi-Zenith Satellite, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n 2.4 GHz, Bluetooth 5.0, NFC, and more.
