
The GoPro Hero 12 Black is official now. The popular action camera maker has launched the latest flagship model globally, including India. The newest iteration in the lineup and the successor to Hero 11 Black comes with some hardware and software upgrades over the last-gen device. However, GoPro has not made significant changes compared to the last-gen.
In terms of pricing, unsurprisingly, the Hero 12 is available for a much cheaper price in the US compared to the Indian price. Having said that, compared to the launch price of the Hero 11 in India, the Hero 12 Black is priced much cheaper. In terms of new features, the 12 Black brings new capabilities such as HDR video support, longer battery life, support for Max Lens Mod 2.0 lens, HyperSmooth 6.0 video stabilization, Bluetooth audio support, and much more. GoPro Hero 12 Black: Variants, Prices, Sale Date
The Hero 12 Black is priced at Rs 45,000 in India and Hero 12 Black Creator Edition is priced at Rs 65,000 with additional accessories. The device is available for pre-order now on Amazon, Flipkart, Croma, Reliance Digital, and Vijay Sales. The camera will start shipping on September 13, 2023, at 6:30 PM IST via both online and offline stores. The GoPro Max Lens Mod 2.0 will go on sale in late November.
As for the warranty, the official distributor, Luxury Personified, will provide an additional 1-year warranty for free in addition to the standard 1-year international warranty.
GoPro Hero 12 Black: Features and Specifications
Starting off with the lens, the GoPro Hero 12 comes with a 27MP imaging sensor (1/1.9-inch), which is capable of clicking 24.7MP stills from video. In terms of video capabilities, the Hero 12 Black can shoot up to 5.3K @ 60fps including 4K @ 120 fps, 2.7K @ 120 fps, and 1080p @ 240fps. The device comes with HyperSmooth 6.0 video stabilization with 360° Horizon Lock 一 offering top-notch video stabilization and the Horizon Lock feature makes it easier to keep the horizon level when the camera rotates a full 360°. The newest addition here is the HDR video mode, which adds more details to the video.
As for the battery life, the GoPro Hero 12 comes with the Enduro rechargeable battery, which is said to last 2x longer. The action camera promises to offer up to 70 minutes of battery with 5.3K60 recording, over 90 minutes with 5.3K30 and over 2.5 hours of continuous recording at 1080 30 fps video.
Further, the GoPro is now capable of pairing up to four devices such as AirPods, and other Bluetooth devices. With a connected audio device, users can also give voice commands and even record audio via the connected device. GoPro also introduced the Max Lens Mod 2.0 (optional add-on), which offers a 177° field of view in 4K60.
